It's a small hole-in-the-wall type place but the food was amazing. There's maybe 10 tables inside and the server was very... nice. The food was INCREDIBLE. I had Chorizo tacos. It was the best Chorizo I've ever had. If you're looking for authenticMexican food, I 10/10 recommend this place. (They have Mexican coke too) Read more

We hadn't been here in a couple of years. The food has always been reliably outstanding, but now the decor and experience has... been upleveled, too. What a great meal! We recommend the platters....the La Huasteca platter was particularly good, especiallywith house made tortillas. And get an orchata to go with the meal! Everything was delicious. Highly recommend. The enchiladas were great. The salsa rojo tasted like childhood. Prices were pretty reasonable compared to other places in town... with similar portions, imo. And the horchatas? As big as your face! (And delicious) Can?t wait to go back. Read more

I have been a fan of this place since it opened. Jessica and her team at La Huasteca Mexican Restaurant are hard working folk... who labor to make some of the best tasting Mexican in town. Not only do they feature family recipes, their tamales areoutstanding because of the secrecy of their recipe handed down from generations. And while my favorite go-to-dish, alambre, didnot make the cut on the new menu, fans of this dish will be happy to learn it can be ordered...you just have to ask. (Hint: Ialways ask that they add sliced jalapenos and for a side of their secret hot sauce that is not available all the time.) Most ofall, this eatery is often the place I bring my friends who live in other countries where they do not have access to deliciousand satisfying Mexican cuisine. My one friend from Germany is upset when I do not take her there as she craves the food when sheis away.) The only challenge I have faced there is that the beans were a bit watery the last time and that was adisappointment. It was just the one time so you can be certain I will be back (hoping it is not a cost-cutting trend and just ahappy accident.) While they do not have a liquor license, you can always cruise Plainfield Avenue after your meal to wet yourwhistle with a beer or a marg at any one of the many bars along Creston's Plainfield Avenue. Take a chance and support LaHuasteca. #KeepCrestonFunky by supporting our neighborhood small businesses like La Huasteca. Take out and dine in options. Youcan also find them on many of the food delivery apps. Read more

We missed Taco-Tuesday and settled for Taco-Thursday. Let me start by saying the steak and pork had great flavor. I don?t think... I had a single bite of fat or grit. Furthermore, the onion and cilantro tasted fresh and I felt a bit of flavor explosion ineach bite. With that said, I do have to admit the tacos seemed a little on the dry side but overall, I really enjoyed them andwill be back for a second opinion. As I usually do, I recommend the reader to stop in for themselves and give it a try. Comeback and let us know. Happy eating! Enjoy! Read more

Get the mole enchiladas! They?re spicy but the flavors dance in your mouth! ?Just ask Jessica how good these are?. I second... this! Also, we used to come here all the time when I lived in GR but it?s been a few years between moving and the pandemic. Wedropped in about a week ago and the food is still just as good and Jessica even remembered us! She remembered my daughter fromwhen she was smaller. That made my day to know that these amazing ladies that work there remembered us among many customersthat would come through. This place doesn?t just have great authentic Mexican food but also a lot of heart and soul. I highlyrecommend this hidden gem! Read more

The good and service here are fantastic. Defenetly some of the best and authentic Mexican food available in the Grand Rapids... areas. The tamales are worth a try, and the fajitas are to die for. Portion sizes are large, so be prepared for leftovers. Read more
