Everything we had was amazing! Even down to the octopus! I’ve had octopus at many different restaurants and this place makes... it soooo good! We had the corn soup, the octopus, shrimp and mussel pasta, the wagyu beef, strawberry shortcake dessert andalso the sticky toffee cake dessert (we ordered a second round of this one because it was so freaking good!!) and the housemadepineapple ice cream. I still remember my first time as if it were yesterday! The most relaxed and as I must say, simple but fine dining. I highly... recommend Linear. The atmosphere was great and perfectly balanced. Music choice is unique compared to most restaurants in theGrand Rapids area. Although not too upbeat/loud and not to quiet. Personally, Brussel sprouts are my favorite hors d'oeuvres bya landslide! Every bite was the perfect crunch paired with a warmth of savory glaze. The main entree was the Wagyu Flank Steakand the perfect bite does exist. Finally to wrap the night up, the S'mores Trifle! I had a GREAT dinner at Linear this evening with a few friends. I loved the environment, the service, the food and the drinks.... The variety per course was vast, the cocktails were affordable while being delicious and I HIGHLY recommend the scallops. Weloved the cheese board to snack on between three individuals. We had the GM recommend one of the features that I woulddefinitely get again. Will be coming back the next time I’m in Grand Rapids. Read more
Overall a great dining experience. Excellent service from our waiter start to finish. Very accommodating and helpful. Chili was... good. Potato appetizer was not something I'd get again. Charred octopus was excellent, cooked perfectly. Miso barbeque salmonwas delicious, a perfect pairing of flavors with the grilled pineapple and peppery red cabbage. Sadly we didn't have room fordesert but wanted to try and was very curious about the tumeric cheesecake. I'd dine here again for sure to keep diving intothe menu. Read more
Great restaurant at a great location! Good vibes and good food. We tried Diver Scallop and Venere Black Risotto, Miso Barbecue... Salmon, Charred Octopus and Lemon Pound Cake. Scallop and Venere Black Risotto was okay but the rest were absolutely delicious.The restaurant is on the pricier side but you get what you pay for. Would go here again (will probably sit outside enjoying theGrand River view) and definitely recommend it to anyone. Keep up the good work, Linear team! Read more
Modern and simple ambiance on the Grand River near downtown Grand Rapids. Menu uses locally sources ingredients when possible.... Food was decent. Party started with the Fried Ravioli (bland sauce and outer coating overpowers the filling of ravioli); and theOctopus (slightly overcooked but was paired nicely with a black bean puree and arugula "salad" highlighted with apple,mandarins, and fennel.) Entrees tried were the red snapper and the scallops with black risotto. Snapper was cooked perfectlyand served on a bed of beans/cooked veggies. Scallops were cooked nicely, however there were only 3 and the main focus of thedish ended up being the tomatoes & risotto. Enjoyed a lovely dinner outside by the river listening to the soothing sounds of soul-jazz and reggae as part of their vinyl DJ... summer series. I ordered the braised beef, the spinach coconut salad, and the focaccia bread bowl. The beef had an odd texturebut fantastic flavor, and with the delicious bed of mashed potatoes, was more than enough for two people. The salad surpassed myexpectations and the tiny squares of coconut were a delight to bite into. I cannot say enough about the bread bowl. It came outpiping hot and stayed hot throughout the meal. It could easily fill the bellies of four people. Overall, it was a fabulousexperience and one I hope to repeat. Read more
