They have a really amazing happy hour from 4-5pm (Monday through Friday) with great specials on drinks and food! I’d recommend... trying one of the sangrias or other drinks on special. They also have discounted food options including gyoza, fried tofu, andedamame as well as 15% off select signature sushi rolls. The chairs at the bar were super comfortable and the service was niceas well. Definitely worth checking out for Happy Hour but also in general. Read more

Not a huge fan of the specialty items, as most things were named something personalized with uncommon items added to the rolls.... The atmosphere was decent, one roll I enjoyed most was The Crazy Ex Girlfriend. Was passing thru Grand Rapids and wanted to have some Asian food so stopped by Maru. Overall decent meal. The waitress was so... friendly and cheerful it brightened up the meal. Based on the ingredients I’m assuming the owner is korean since lot of Koreaningredients. Definitely a fusion restaurant and if you are expecting a authentic Japanese restaurant Maru isn’t that.
