Had Stan’s Tacos for dinner. It was quiet inside when I got there so that had me wondering if the food was good or not. Well,... let me tell you. The food was amazing and Sophie (working behind the bar) was awesome. She explained the menu, specials andHappy Hour with no hesitation and no stumbling for words. I texted the Baja Bowl and chips with Queso. When the food arrived, Iwas pleasantly surprised at the presentation and delicious aroma of the plate. If you haven’t been here yet, I highly suggestyou go. And ask for Sophie, you won’t be disappointed. And make sure you make of for Happy Hour, definitely worth it. Read more
So, I ordered the Baja Bowl... received the bowl and it looked just like the picture. Nice! Very tasty, waitress was nice nice... and attentive. The beef was not hot(temp) and I was disappointed chips and salsa were not complimentary as I expect from mostMexican dinning establishments. Otherwise, all was well. Read more
I'm going to start out by saying that my first experience with the Grand Rapids Stan's tacos was far from what I wanted or... expected. However, the owner contacted me and asked me about my experience. I explained to him why I had given the place a 2star review and he asked that I give them another shot. He did everything in his power to encourage me to try again and maybe Icould change my review in return. That being said, today everything rocked! My husband and I got the grilled burritos one withpico and one without. Both came out perfectly the way ordered. The chips, queso and salsa was amazing. We had nothing but crumbsleft. The margarita was on point (a little strong for me as I'm a light weight but that's not Stan's fault ????). The sauce thatcomes with the grilled burritos is fantastic, just spicy enough. The service was great, the hospitality of Jon was amazing, andeverything turned out perfect this next time around. Thank you for the great experience. Wow absolutely amazing tacos: the carne asada, brisket, and surf and turf all had unique and amazing flavors. I also ordered the... bbq pork but it was a little dry. Came on Taco Tuesday and got $2 off each taco! Read more
Stan’s Tacos has an amazing atmosphere, food, and service. If you’re looking to cure the winter blues, this is the place to... come. The GM, John, is so freaking friendly!!! I’ve been here twice, and both times he’s taken my order. He’s answered allof my annoying questions (How are the margaritas? How spicy is the jalapeño margarita? Their dining experience is a bit odd, but they have made improvements. They no longer wander the restaurant hollering ppls... names; they have table numbers now. Grab a bag of chips while you're there. They are fabulously priced. If you go when they'renot busy, you food will come out hot in 5 mins. Otherwise, it's a 20+ min wait. Great food. This place is great for a fun placeto grab a bite while downtown. Imagine if Nicolodian created a restaurant for Spongebob and that's what you'd be walking into.Always playing classics. Read more
Went to Stan's for the first time on Sunday. Got the 3 taco combo and it was DELISH! It's a bit pricey, but I'm willing to fork... over the extra cash for some premium quality south of the border entrees on occasion. I will definitely be back. Thepresentation is great too! Nice work! Read more
Stan’s Taco’s in downtown Grand Rapids is a gem of a restaurant. My wife and I stopped in before seeing a concert next door.... Food was delicious and the margaritas were to die for!! (try the frozen strawberry)! Service was fast and very friendly. Dan,Adanna, and Althea knocked it out of the park!!
