Don?t be put off by the strip mall location on 28th Street. It?s the perfect spot to stop for lunch on the way to Meijer Gardens... or dinner on your way back home. Everything about this restaurant was great! The indoor decor and outdoor covered patio wasfresh, stylish and inviting. Our server, Krista, was professional, friendly and attentive. Great drinks and spacious bar. TheEuropean menu with a French twist offered so many interesting choices for both the vegetarian and the meat-lover. We opted forthe caprese sandwich (served as a salad) and the linguini with veggies. Don?t forget to try the risotto with charred asparagus.Delish! Our new favorite Grand Rapids restaurant! Read more

I am in love with Jeff the bartender for one very specific reason and you should be too. Expresso Martini. That?s it. That?s all... you need to know. If we are going to talk about food, however, big fan of soup and salads here along with the crab appetizer. All of the entrees I?ve participated in were delightful. Service always friendly and innovative when needed. Atmosphere sets agood mood. 4 stars only because I?d like to see the specials vary a little more. This is another favorite spot! Read more

Go there on Thursdays for live music, or every other day because the food is fantastic! Never had cuisine like this before, and... was pleasantly surprised. All in all, we spent our wedding anniversary as a happy couple and will definitely revisit in thefuture. Read more

It's our last night in Grand Rapids, looking for one last culinary adventure. Tonight it's Euro Bistro, a deceptively large... place at one end of a strip mall. It's packed at 6:30 pm so we take advantage of the parking lot behind. Of all the placeswe've seen, this has the most appropriately well-dressed patrons (except for me, coming as I am from an apple orchard). Everyoneis loud and boisterous; the sound of locals having a very good time. The baguette (piping hot) & butter (very satisfyinglycold) was a great pair; everyone agreed the baguette was a tasty piece of work. The entrees (appetizers) began with the bisquede homard (lobster bisque), the soup du jour: a mild flavor, safe for all, not assertively marine. Others liked the bits oflobster meat. Next up was soupe à l'oignon gratinée (onion soup with cheese), the first dish that I prepared from scratch forothers. Rather than the expected baked shell of cheese covering the entire bowl, this had a floating island of bread with a bitof cheese atop. The onion was nicely cooked down but had an unexpected acidic finish, as though some vinegar had been added toolate. Moving into the plats principaux (main courses) with the boeuf bourguignon, which was well-received. The meat was verytender, soft enough to break apart with a fork. It was more BBQ-y than I anticipated but somehow appropriate to an area withgreat brisket burnt ends. Liked by all in our party. The coq au vin (rooster with wine), that staple of my mom's (learnedduring her time at La Sorbonne), was also fork-tender and tasty, albeit with less cooked-down red wine taste and somehowsweeter, a bit distractingly so. The risotto aux asperges grillées (charred asparagus risotto) was spot-on, with nicely-cookedArborio and tender, tasty bits of asparagus. Mild, soothing, and a good counterpart to the more assertive meat dishes. For thecours de desserts we went with the gâteau au chocolat sans farine (flourless chocolate cake), a dish with very fe Read more

The chef special, Seafood Pastas, was excellent! Perfectly cooked scallops and shrimp. I'm not a huge pastas fan, but i would... be glad to have the pastas from here any day. I had the shrimp scampi last time and it was just as good. Every bite wasflavorful. Read more
