The Mitten has been a popular Grand Rapids brewery for a number of years. The beer is solid and mostly unchanging. Although they... do offer a couple of sours and ciders, they seem more content to stay the course. Food is almost all specialty pizzas. Servicewas good. Read more
The beer is first class, and they do wonderfully creative things with pizza (including a "pizza flight" that gives you a... sampling of pizza flavors in one box). They also draw a welcoming and pleasant crowd of regulars, so the atmosphere is verypleasant. The one caveat to the experience is that they don't offer service to the outdoor seating area, so if you opt to sitoutside you'll be doing your own running to and from the bar, waiting in line, etc. It's no big deal, but just something to beaware of when you pick your table. Love the mitten. Love the pizza. The gluten free pizza is a scam. Have gotten the Sampler pizza multiple times on standard crust... and it's enough for 2 people with leftovers. Tried it with the gluten free crust for the first time and it's less than half thesize and I had to pay more for it. Sure it's still good but not worth the cost....just get the regular pizza. Mitten was quite the catch!! The pizzas were terrific and very tasty. The beers were a bit of a disappointment and lacked an... edge sadly the service was rather slow but understandable as it was a Saturday evening. Would I go again yes for sure!! Read more
Covid kind of throwing the jam off a little bit. But we all come here for the pizza right? Pizza flight is what we got, four... different kinds, all of which Vegan option. The crust is sufficient with loads of toppings. Love the balance of tastes. Hot andnewly baked pizza definitely will fill up your stomach. Will come back! Read more
Good food, drinks and atmosphere. My bartender, Don, was great. Full of energy, cheerful and seems to attract regulars. I had... the Mitten Sangria and Baseline for my drinks, both were delicious. For food I had the hog heaven and it was great. Prices werereasonable and portions are pretty large. Read more
Love the beer selection and pizza choices. Don?t skip the appetizers! The Tavern Cheese was great! We custom ordered our pizza... and we enjoyed it. Love the nostalgia all around the brewery.
