I have heard about this place for decades and I have to say it was not worth the hype. Clam chower was good (could have used... more onion and didn't seemor taste any celery) as was the multi grain bread. Bonus-the butter was soft. Server started greatbut, as sooo often happens, she disappeared at the end leaving us sit for 20 minutes. Something about the spices on my seafoodplatter wasn't great until after I added a bunch of lemon. Scallops were way undercooked. No they were not seared and lightlydone they were warm and that's it. The side of mashed was large and tasty as was the slaw. But they were out of stuffed sole.White fish was ok but what kind I do not know and the whitefish sand was small for the price. Steak and shrimp was ok as thesteak was not medium rare barely pink at all. Clam strips were rubber bands. For the prices I would expect much more. Had a great dinner here after spending the afternoon at the Headlands Beach. Combining the two experiences will get you as close... to an Ocean front vacation as you can get here in Ohio. Great food! If you're in-between here or across the street stay here. Perch is great. Crab is quality. Frog legs are good. Bread is fluffy... and soft. Chowder is great. Lastly people are fantastic. Great place highly recommend. Read more
Brennan's is a no nonsense great place to eat. You come for the fried perch dinners and return because, based on the service... staff, you feel like family. Large portions are generous and include bread and cake slaw. We are always too full for dessertsbut they look great. A definite destination place! Read more
Recommend for sure. Homemade recipes are fantastic! Try the crab cakes. Thin cut fries are hard to come by anymore. Admittedly... was too expensive for a lunch meal but I wanted to try too many items. Will definitely return. Read more
Server only reason for a 3 star. He was accommodating and friendly. The meal I got for $16.89 was barely edible. Scallops... (seared) floating in oil and split due to overcooking, fries too greasy to eat, Cole slaw from a vat. No Covid precautions. Read more
First time there today and last! Went for the clam bake and those were NOT middleneck clams. I?ve have bigger bugers! Tasteless... chicken and sweet potato with CANNED CORN! Melamine dishes? Is this the 70?s? Server was non-existent and never refilled myhusband?s soda. Very disappointed that I spent our hard earned money there.
