Reviews for la Madeleine in Grapevine, TX

This might be a "French" bakery, but the Spanish call it "El Terrible". I've gone to La Madeleine for over 20 years and it has... certainly gone downhill. My wife and I will not return to this location unless there's a change in management. The hostessclearly didn't want to be there and had a flippant attitude. The restaurant wasn't tidy as there was trash on the floor of thedrink area, many tables hadn't been bussed and (of course) no paper towels in the bathroom. The food (as with everything else)was not prepared with care. $9.00 for a sandwich with two pieces of roast beef and a few chips is ridiculous. The food wasalmost completely tasteless. I ate the two small pieces of meat and discarded everything else. As you can see from the picturethey didn't care at all. I haven't visited La Madeleine in years and if this is what I can expect from other locations thenI'll go ahead and throw away the towel. There are far too many good restaurants to visit. Read more

Went in for a chocolate chip cookie which was decent but not amazing. I noticed on the receipt they added an ?inflation... surcharge.? Who are you kidding? Just raise your prices and stop pretending you?re the victim while sneaking extra money intoyour pocket and hoping no one notices. Read more

Had a great breakfast (quiche and all American) eggs were cooked perfectly and of course, the blueberry lemon danish was so... tasty! Susan is awesome as well as the crew. Tables were clean as were the bathrooms. Great experience! Keep up the good work,we'll be back soon ;) Read more

First time guest experience. Ordered a grilled cheese, tomato soup and a latte, to go. Latte tasted like hot milk, little to no... espresso taste. Grilled Cheese: Not very grilled. Not very warm Cheese hardly melted One of the worst grilled cheese I have everhad. Soup was average. Staff was very kind and friendly, but will not be wasting my money here ever again. Read more

Very disappointing, we were looking forward to a croque Madame, a quiche Loraine and a croissant. However, the guy at the... counter told us it would be a 45 minutes wait from the time he took our order, which was disappointing for a Saturday morning. We counted 4 people working and it was mildly busy. There was no sense of urgency in helping customers out with orders, while wewere in the queue to order, we also witnessed a customer bringing back their order 2 times. We?re glad the guy at the orderingcounter informed us of the wait, that?s when we turned around and left. Read more

Are used to eat here all the time as a kid, unfortunately they do not have these out in California so anytime I come back home I... try and stop in for lunch. Luckily I had time this trip and everything tasted as wonderful as I can remember. I truly wish wehad one of these out in Sacramento, or even something similar. They are quiche is to die for, and they are known for theirtomato basil soup for a reason! They also have this wonderful potato pancake?I could go on. I was so hyped up to finally go andI am so happy that it lived up to my expectations. Please please please open one up in California! Read more

Grab a menu when you walk in. Place an order at the cashier when you're ready & take a letter. The seating sections are cozy... making for an intimate experience. We tried breakfast, will return for lunch. Read more
