Was our first time here and thought we would try it. Young man at the register taking our order was not helpful whatsoever and... zero personality. Finally got thru the order and waited for our food. We are giving a 2 star rating only because the rootbeerwas very tasty and the burgers were good. Ordered the fried chicken sand as well. It had 2 chicken tenders about 3 inches longon a huge bun. This cost $10.89. Even just 1 more tender would have helped. Had to go back up to the counter to get fries. Younglady at the counter seemed confused when I asked for them saying do you want them before your burgers. I replied we already hadthe burgers. She brought the 2 orders of fries that we ordered and they were cold. Went back to the counter to complain. Asecond young man said they could remake the fries, but did not address the ?fried chicken? sandwich at all when I told him itwas unacceptable. We waited another 10 minutes watching other orders come and go. First young man at the register saw us stillwaiting and asked if we got our fries. I just shook my head. My family walked out and as I was getting up to leave they finallybrought fries but only one order. I left and will definitely NOT be back. Read more

I've always loved Big A. It's a big part of Grass Valley culture, it's been there for years. I had a Chicago dog, with all the... fixings, onions, mustard, pickles and tomatoes which are fresh and wonderful in Grass Valley. My husband had a baconcheeseburger which was fantastic as usual, we shared a basket of onion rings which are dipped in a tempura type of batter sothey're crunchy and greasy and just perfect. I have been going to Big A since it was A&W many years ago. It has always been a place that consistently served fresh and... wonderful comfort food. But.....today something was really off. We all know that when we eat here that it's going to cost alittle more and usually we're fine with that because the food is so good. I don't know if the cook called in sick today or maybesomething else was going on but the food (which was $45 for 2 people) was so soggy and terrible that neither of us could eat it.I hoping this will be only a one time experience. These folks are clearly struggling... it used to be a pretty good burger joint. But maaaaan has it slid downhill quick... last... time or so we were here it was...ok...at best.... today the burgers taste like cardboard, the fries are so salty I literallycan't eat them (and I usually ADD salt to fries) and when I go to add ketchup I find they're only giving you HALF a patty!! Theywrapped it up in the paper to face you. For the prices they charge now you would think the LEAST you would get was what youpaid for... even if it's not very good.. I've had better burgers at McDonalds. Do yourself a favor and go to Pine St. Read more
