We had an amazing anniversary dinner. I have dietary restrictions, which almost always feel like an imposition in... restaurants/social settings. The team members I spoke with were incredibly accommodating and kind, especially Rachel who trulywent above and beyond. The food they substituted (when necessary) was incredible, well thought out and so delicious. Thank youfor taking the extra time to do so. We will definitely be back. Read more

I have always adored this restaurant. However, it seems to be under new management and the food wasn't the same. The creamy... vegetable soup really missed the mark for me. It was bland, not creamy, and missing the familiar carrots and sweet potatosweetness. There were few options available to request other sides, no mashed potato, no buttered noodles. It was adisappointment. The new folks should stick with a truly great menu that has brought people from all around. Don't add more as itwas already perfect!!! Round cooked potatoes in skins on my plate don't do anything for me, and the twice baked potato was dryand bla with cauliflower next to it??? Why? Our waitress was great, and meats were cooked well, but the rest was not wellthought out. Read more

June 11, 2021 - Heard the expression, “Good food, people will come”! Our friends invited us to dinner at Sedgley Place in a... small town called Greene, Maine. My reply, “Never heard of it!” We enjoy exploring new places, and this culinary discoveryrates highly, 4.75! Sedgley Place Country Inn started serving food in 1978, and under the current ownership of Susan & BobBowie they continue to attract customers who enjoy great food. Their chefs serve a 5 course meal that includes homemade breads, appetizer, salad and/or soup, entree, and dessert! Their menus vary weekly, which include fresh ingredients, in season, fromlocal farms & merchants. Our choices included: French Onion Soup / Creamy asparagus soup Salmon & Shrimp Prime RibRoast Filet Mignon Chicken Pan Seared Haddock & Lobster Wellington Vegetarian Mac & Cheese All desserts were homemade! HotFudge Sundae Peanut Butter w/chocolate crust pie Chocolate Tart Strawberry topped Cheesecake Raspberry Turnover The “countryinn” setting allows for conversation & relaxing evening on any special occasion ( eg. birthdays, anniversaries, jobpromotions, out with good friends). I tend to favor white linen table cloths, two forks, and attentive servers like Donna (thanks)! There’s several rooms for small parties, and an upstairs floor for a wedding or rehearsal dinners, plus outsideseating for special events. Chefs Kyle & Raymond coordinate their culinary talents by serving up excellent food! Thank you! 2Suggestions: A. If serving a salad as a separate course, you might not load up salad fixings under an entree too (such as mywife’s Salmon & Shrimp)? She loved the Salmon! B. Is there a story behind this old Country Inn . . . print that story onthe menu? (History adds ambiance) Significant History of Area Pre 1700’s -Worumbo /Androscoggin Indians 1700’s - Part ofLewiston Plantation 1775- Benjamin Ellingwood settler , town named for Rev. War hero Nathanael Greene 1779 - William Spraguebuilt 1st mill 1 Read more

Servers were courteous and professional. Each course was better than the last. What you see below is the bacon wrapped pork... tenderloin with demi glace, whipped potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Highly recommended, and was still under $100 for two (notincluding tip). Read more

We came for a wine and food tasting. The fondue was good which was white cheddar moray with a cranberry anadama bread. The soup... was a corn and cod chowder which was awesome. The spicy cabbage salad was lacking and was overpowered by the amount of sausageon the plate. The apple cider mimosa was a bit to sweet for me but the pumpkin sugar on the rim was very tasty. The entréewas a roast rack of pork Au Poivre was good but could have used less apple butter. Also our friends pork was undercooked. The dessert was to die for! It was called a long John. It was a spiced pumpkin "long john" and dark chocolate mol'e.Goes so well with a merlot or pino! Read more
