I was looking for a new place to try and remembered seeing this place while driving through Greenport. I ordered takeout. Fried... chicken and a burger with fries. Also the cauliflower appetizer. As for the restaurant interior. It is lovely. Open, airy,light feeling. Nice tall ceilings. And the hostess delightful and engaging. You’ll recognize her as her portrait isprominently hung over the bar. The bar is quite inviting and spacious BTW. As for our food, I was underwhelmed. My chicken wasunder seasoned and a bit dry. My wife felt the same about her burger. The cauliflower bites and sauce were quite good though. Ithink your best bet is to enjoy the comfy stools at the bar with drinks and appetizers. Note the pictures are once I platedtake out at home. Not my forte you can see and it doesn’t represent full portions. There was more chicken, fries andcauliflower. Read more
Exceptional food in an adorable location. The fish and chips were especially delightful because while I expected North Fork... fresh fish, I did not expect such delicate and light battering. The drinks were a real treat and they have a great local wineselection. Friendly staff too. Read more
My family and I went to Ellen’s on Front in Greenport this weekend. Everything we ordered was amazing. The burger was cooked... perfectly and the fries were soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. The fried chicken with the hot honey sauce wasamazing. The Cacio E Pepe Pastina was light and fluffy. We also loved that the restaurant featured wines from local North Forkvineyards. The inside is decorated beautifully with high ceilings an abstract painting on one wall and an elegant painting ofEllen above the bar. Our waitress was attentive and had a smile on her face and the owner greeted us when we came in and evenchatted with us at the table. Overall, we had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this restaurant. Read more
Accidentally ended up here because my grandson HAD TO have a hot dog for dinner and they had one on the kids menu. Very... pleasantly surprised. Had ???? watermelon gazpacho special and chicken fried rice. Both were outstanding. Staff professional andwelcoming. Will be back. Read more
100% best burger on the North Fork, word on the street is Jennie makes some pretty amazing chili too. We were all VERY happy... with our meal tonight. Good service, charming and delicious. Read more
Thank you Ellen’s on Front + Family! After receiving a raving recommendation, I ate here for lunch alone on the patio outside.... The signature duck fried rice is filled with complex flavors. Absolutely delicious and a great portion. I am already lookingforward to eating the leftovers!! Read more
We came to Ellen’s on the first night of our honeymoon (same day we got married). I mentioned as much in my reservation and... they pulled out ALL of the stops. Combining such a special level of service with truly phenomenal food... I cannot recommendthe place enough. You shouldn’t leave Greenport without eating here, every aspect of the meal was phenomenal. I came to Long Island with a group of tinkers. We're Irish traveling people with no homes to go to, ever! We went to Ellen's and... they were fantastic.
