I don't leave many reviews. Went for first time for Chinese BBQ today for lunch. Got half duck and order of roast pork and it... was awful. Was served soggy, undercooked, room temperature meat that was mostly inedible. No crispy skin anywhere on the duckand I opened that box as soon as I hit my seat in the car to try it. Pork had some crispy skin but was room temp. I justwrapped it back up, set in a dumpster, and tried to forget about it. Would have been more satisfying to put $37 in a littlepile and set it on fire. Had debit card copied/hacked after eating here so be warned. Review from eating there below: The good the food tastes great and... was overall happy with prices. The bad customer service is non existent and super slow. The bathroom was unclean and smelled badwith smoke. Tried something new probably won't return. Read more
A great friend introduced me to Van Loi many months ago, we live 45 minutes from the restaurant. When I first ate at Van Loi it... was some of the best food I have ever eaten, and now we visit once a week. The restaurant is always full and they make everydish fresh. I was passing through Greensboro and decided to try out this place since I was craving some noodle soup. They have a pretty... extensive menu from all the classic Vietnamese dishes to some more unique options. Right from walking in, you'll notice the bbqroasted duck hanging to the right which is something that is pretty unique to have. It's definitely something worth trying outif you have not had it before. Anyways, I ended up getting #39 BBQ Pork and Wonton Noodle Soup. The portion was large with agood amount of noodle to broth ratio. There was a good amount of minced bbq pork and pieces of wontons as well. The flavorprofile was on the sweeter side and I got a side of sriracha and chili oil to up the heat. They pre-add a good amount of herbsat the beginning too, but once it cooks down and shrivels in the broth they are not too overwhelming. Overall, the delivery andpresentation does remind me of what I would have gotten at home so it did make me pretty nostalgic. Read more
Wonderful food and fast service. Very large menu that we needed some help from the staff to navigate. Her recommendations were... detailed and our food was delicious. Fantastic tasting roast pork and roast duck. The flavors were amazing. only complaint is the duck is very skinny, not much meat.
