My husband and I passed by here the other day and wanted to come grab some BBQ on our next date night. We had previously lived... in Texas for a bit & had high expectations. This did not disappoint! Everything was excellent and everyone working there werevery friendly & eager to make your meal more enjoyable. We tried the brisket, turkey, pulled pork & sausage. We also had thecorn pudding, potato salad, collard greens & fries. We definitely will come back again & recommend to others!! Read more

Our first visit here. We enjoyed our food very much. The Brisket is a must try. I also loved the Mac and cheese and my husband... really liked the potato salad. My only complaint would be the small paper cups for the sauces at the self serve counter. Theyhave plenty of seating and a full bar. I will definitely return to try more of the menu. Read more

This was quite the experience! Food was delicious, really enjoyed the way they presented the food on a large tray and how you... eat off of the wax paper placemats. There is a great spot for kids to run around on the AstroTurf area, lots of seating indoorsand outdoors. They even let me come check out the enormous smokers and explained how they have multiple shifts to handle all ofthe meat. The brisket sample as we approached the counter to order was a nice touch, and it\'s great the way you can order byweight and get as much or as little as you\'d like. Read more

I was born and raised in South Carolina and I really love Carolina barbecue but when I went to Texas and had their style of... barbecue, that was it for me. I still love the pulled pork here over everywhere else but when it comes to brisket and beef ribs,Texas is the king. I heard about Lewis Barbecue in Charleston a little ago because I enjoy watching the Food Network, I justhaven’t got down to Charleston. People were saying such great things, that I knew I had to try it. When John put a locationhere in Greenville, I knew I would go. I finally did on my wife’s birthday 10/21 and they did not disappoint. The brisket wasso tender and juicy but not over-seasoned and had great flavor. The spare ribs were tender and extremely flavorful. My wife gotthe pulled pork, I still prefer Carolina style to that but it was good. The green chile sausage was good as well. I also reallyenjoyed the mac & cheese, the cowboy beans were okay. With all that said about the food, the staff was great and very welcoming. There is no doubt that I will go back and spend the premium prices and wait in long lines because it was that good. I am happythat John Lewis decided to bring some Texas style to Greenville because Texas barbecue is ridiculously good and Lewis Barbecuedoes it very well. Read more

First time here highly anticipated barbecue restaurant as this is what I specialize in as a foodie. I ate it several barbecue... restaurants when I was down in this area and this was by far the best hands down ???? the only thing that I can critique was thesauce\'s and sides I received I didn\'t care for them besides the corn casserole only one we liked! And the sauce\'s we\'re justtoo thing for my taste and liking. The meats were on point ???????? overall love the decor and the setup of this restaurantestablishment especially the dining patio area you gotta check this place out you won\'t be disappointed! Wow, this was really good BBQ. Among the best I have had in the US (including Texas). We got there at the right time when the... line was short (see photo). After we had been there a while, the line was out the door, but moved along pretty well. The BBQ -when it was my turn to order, I stepped up to the cutter, and he immediately offered me a brisket sample. So good. I had brisket(lean - you have the choice of lean or fatty), ribs, and homemade Texas hot guts (sausage). For sides I chose fries (big , curlywedges) and greens. Also provided gratis were onions, pickled onions, and pickles. Everything was excellent. Eat off your trayor brown paper. Plastic utensils. You could get some beverages in the ordering line, and they also had a bar where you couldorder beer on tap and other drinks. Leave the stuff on the table when done and they come by and pick it up. Will definitely comeback. Read more

Hands down the best beef brisket I have ever had! So good. Sides were good had the Mac and the potato salad. Also had 2 sides... of the corn pudding and banana pudding. Each plate came with some spice pickles and some picked onions. New place only open fora few days. The wait was a it long but moved pretty good. And it was Sunday during church crowd. Nice bar to get a drink whilewe waited. Staff and service was excellent! Outside seating was perfect with football games on. I had my drone so decided toget some extra photos. Will Def be back every time we go through that area! Read more

We got there 30 minutes early, and by the time the place opened the line was almost wrapped around the building. Let me tell... you, though, the food is worth the wait! The brisket was delicious, the corn pudding (which I normally don\'t care for)warranted a second fork-full, and man oh man, let\'s talk about the chicken fried steak. I\'d slap my mama for another bite ofit, it was just that good!\nThe service was also exceptional. The young lady greeting us was effervescent and fun, our ownpersonal \"BBQ emotional support cheerleader\", and the manager Eric was also great in stopping by to make sure everything waswell taken care of. I may live 2.5 hours away, but will be back as often as possible! Read more
