We hired the Boxcar Cantina taco truck for a benefit event, and we could not have been more pleased with the truck staff and the... quality of the food. They prepare the food in the truck and serve on a table, which was perfect for our venue. They tailored avegetarian menu for our event, and the food was ample and delicious. The amiable and efficient staff went the extra mile to makesure everyone had enough to eat. We would definitely sign them up again for next year's event! Read more

Really good food and service overall but definitely not cheap - the quesadillas were $20 dollars for not a lot of food and they... can do better by giving larger portions of rice and beans - though the chicken tasted very fresh. For a family style Mexicanrestaurant, this is exceedingly expensive compared to lots of hidden local places over in white plains or port Chester. UPDATED REVIEW**** I went back to Boxcar Cantina this past Friday and had a great experience. We ordered guacamole and salsa to... share. The serving size of the guacamole is still small for the cost, but we are in Greenwich and also in an insane economy. Iordered the Mexican Salad with Grilled Organic Chile-Crusted Salmon (instead of the chicken it comes with), and my fiancéordered the Beef Burrito. The food was very good. I especially liked the organic options. What made the night amazing was theexcellent service. Both the waiter and host were very friendly. I did not respond to the owner to give a heads up I was coming,as I did not want to receive special treatment in hopes that I updated my review. This will be a regular spot for us in thefuture. I love the relaxed environment. Perfect for a Friday night after a long work week. Initial Review: I ordered guacamoleand chips to go. $16 for a tiny (approx. 4oz) serving of guacamole. Insanely overpriced. The guacamole was pretty bland andlacking both texture and flavor. It was literally only avocado and possibly a little cilantro. I don't think I have ever writtena restaurant review before. I understand everything is more expensive, but this was absurd. I looked at the menu after I pickedup my food. The margarita, chips and guac were good but $13 for the guac is pretty expensive, especially that its not a huge serving. The... burrito, rice and beans had no flavor whatsoever. The tacos weren't bad but still missing something. It was 70 bucks foreverything and we weren't satisfied at all. If you want real Mexican food, definitely stay in Port Chester or go up to Stamford. Really good Mexican restaurant in a casual setting. Well prepared meals served with fresh ingredients. When the guacamole and... chips are fresh and tasty, you know how the rest of the meal will usually go! Really enjoyed the shrimp fajita and margaritaafter the guac and chips. Lots of menu choices. I really enjoyed a great meal here tonight!! When you get great fresh chips, guac and salsa to start your meal, that usually... means you will get a quality meal to follow!! I had a delicious shrimp fajita along with a top shelf margarita! The onion ringappetizer was also very good.
