45 Minute wait for food. Greenheads swarming were AIDS. Food was subpar. Everything is grossly overpriced. Small portions. ... $150+ for 3 people for dinner. $10 craft beers. You're paying for the view which isn't worth the price. Ordered "slow cooked"ribs which weren't slow cooked at all. I was expecting the meat to fall of the bone. That wasn't the case. I'll circle backaround next year. Maybe things will get better. I'm all about quality over quantity and neither quality or quantity is to befound here. Read more

Great place to eat, especially if you love the water like I do! There is the restaurant inside but also the Outboard Bar where... you can order food, as well. Food and drinks were great as well as the atmosphere. If you bring the kids, there is corn hole toplay. I would come here anytime!! Read more

My boyfriend and I came here recently for the first time with a group of about 8. They were raving about how good the food was,... and were excited to share the experience with us. The atmosphere was pretty cool, and our waiter was fantastic... But the foodwas an issue. We ended up waiting an hour and a half for our food because we were told a new employee had accidentally closedout the ticket without realizing we were never served. I understand accidents happen, but the wait was just not worth it. Nobodywas overly thrilled with their meals, despite our friends having good experiences in the past. I have food allergies, andrequested a menu item be altered so I can enjoy something to eat, but was denied the request so I just had the fries off myboyfriend?s plate. We ended up stopping somewhere else on the way home so I could actually eat. Some of the group we went withwill return, as they say the food is normally great and this was just a bad day, but unfortunately this first time experiencewas enough to put me off for good. We ate at their outside bar area which also has picnic tables for dining. I had the fish tacos which were delicious, I would... definitely get them again. My husband had some type of lobster bites, plus we had fried pickles. Connor was ourbartender/server, he was phenomenal, so friendly and attentive!!! I would highly recommend this establishment!!!! We were searching for a historical area to tour around and ended up out in the middle of nowhere, not quite what we had in mind.... However we didn?t want the entire road trip to be a bus and so we looked up local places to sit down and catch a bite to eat. Wefound this restaurant located on the shore of Cohancy River out in the middle of nowhere in New Jersey. There?s nothing outthere, literally. The only things that we could find were just fields and fields of growing corn. It was actually rathersurprising to find a restaurant like this! When we first arrived, we saw a bunch of all the boats that were stored on the lotwhich gave it a pretty authentic but eccentric vibe. Sort of like an old junkyard but for boats. It was very unique. You can?treally judge a book by the cover and so pulling into the lot further we found the restaurant. It was actually very similar tothat I have a boating club. Inside, it had a ?Margaritaville? like setting, And during the time of day that we arrived it waspretty empty. However outside they had a bar area set up, and there was a stage with a band getting ready to play live. We evenhad a very unique style bar which was made out of an old boat. They had little areas make bonfires and really cool areas to sitdown around them. In the river there were a lot of other boats with boat owners just relaxing. It?s really a nice atmosphere andI truly enjoyed the restaurant and it?s set up itself. A really good point was that their dessert was rather tasty. They had areally great chocolate cake. Their drinks were also pretty awesome. I had a mai tai. The service was also rather quick but to behonest with you the only negative thing about the restaurant was the menu. I ordered some kind of shrimp spaghetti stuff and Ididn?t really enjoy it. Just seem like a bunch of egg noodles with some spaghetti and clam sauce slept in there with someshrimp. Other than that I think it was pretty good experience and worth going to. You just have to be Read more

Came to this spot with our family. It?s a cute restaurant nestled in the middle of no where. Lots of boats and a brand new... bar. We opted to sit inside due to weather and it was fairly empty. Server was nice and friendly and quickly sat us andprovided drinks. Overall it was a fun experience with great atmosphere. We split a chicken sandwich and bait box salad. Thesandwich was yummy with a nice thin piece of chicken. The salad was delicious with fresh pecans and blue cheese crumbles. Skipwings get boom boom shrimp if you?re looking at apps. Overall decent food and good experience. Some dishes seemed expensive. Read more

The bait box is like the MBL, it's opening marks the beginning of a hopefully good summer, a place to forget the year of covid... 19 that for many changed a lot of life's, we are truly sorry for those that did loose people in this pandemic. To be able tosit, eat and drink in such a relaxing place watching the Cohansey River flow by and it take you along with it - is so relaxing,as time goes on the music plays at the weekend and the sound of voices and giggles once again fill the air. It looks like themenu is limited until we are in full swing of the summer, but it's the view and the good people enjoying themselves that's thedraw for me, so if your passing by give it a look and stay awhile and enjoy all it has to offer. Don't forget to check theopening times before you arrive though. Read more
