Reviews for Rita's Italian Ice & Frozen Custard in Gretna, NE

I was very excited to discover a Rita's in the Gretna mall and made my boyfriend make an unexpected stop. Sadly the service was... poor and they were out of so many things. Soft serve machine was empty and only 3 flavors of ice left. This meant I couldn't getmy fav gelati. There were three employees working but all seemed flustered with how to explain their lack of products. Wouldhave helped all in line plan if they made a loud announcement that soft serve was a 15 min wait. Also cashier took so longcounting our our change the screen cleared and she had to ask is what we were owed. Hopefully this is new store glitches?!? Read more

The custard was delicious, but the service on May 29, 2021 was abysmal. The young boy working didn?t know how to make a cone and... he didn?t seem keen on putting forth any effort at all. A large and small cone were filled with about 1/6 of the ice cream theyshould be. He filled them with a single pull of ice cream, with no swirling, and he charged us $9. I?d have disappointed mythree year old if I elected refuse them so I paid my money and let it go. My friend got a mixed ice cream in a cup thinking thatwould be better, and that was 2/3 empty. Great service, variety of gelato, frozen custard, and Italian ice flavors!!!!

This Rita shares a space with pieocracy which is why when we first walked by it, we did not know it was there. The signage... wasn't very clear. The custard itself is 5 ????, but the service was more a 3-4 It's not an exceptionally comfortable place tosit. Imagine 80s food court. It's fine for a quick bite. I would go back again and hopefully their soft serve machine won't bebroken. We had wanted vanilla but they could only do chocolate or swirl. The consistency is rich with an elasticity to it. The customer service is always good. But at every other Rita?s I?ve been to on the east coast they always had lemon. This one... NEVER does. I was informed that the owner takes it home so it never gets served to actual customers, kind of a BIGdisappointment when that is my favorite Italian ice. Why doesn?t he just order more for him and some for the store? Read more

Always great environment with an excellent choice of fresh ingredients. The custard is delicious and the serving size is large.... The prices are slightly more expensive then Culver's and Dairy Queen but its really good custard. Read more

FINALLY! A Rita's within reasonable driving distance. This is a place I spent my summer days when I lived in Florida. We'd grab... a treat and head to the beach. The custard is still just as smooth as I remember and the Italian ice is still just as flavorfuland refreshing. I always recommend the gelati which is half custard and half ice. My husband loves the custard by itself, andothers love just the ice. Either way you can have your dessert how you want it with a variety of flavors and toppings. Read more
