Taking my granddaughter back to Guelph University. Stopped by Fionn MacCool's for lunch. After a good 45 minutes our food had... still not come. I guess it was the owner who stopped by our table ( but he looked like a construction worker) asking if thingswere ok. The table was sticky, there were fruit flies, not a good experience. The only one we liked was our server. Obviously she was the only server and was doing the best she could. I would not recommend this restaurant. Read more
First time back after an awful experience 4yrs ago, right from Sara our waitress who was fairly new was attentive and friendly... that goes a long way in my books( 35+ yrs in hospitality) I'm very critical with my food. Food was fantastic, but despite only a dozen or so customers, service was inattentive. Food came quick, but didn’t get a... chance for refills, more plum sauce for my daughter, and they were unaware of free dessert for kids menu. Felt like I had toargue it. Read more
Have ordered before and was happy with the food but this time I was disappointed, I ordered something from the menu called the... pub special and it says serves 2 people and when it came it wasnt even enough for 1 person.. Be cautious when ordering becausethe portions may not be what is advertised. Read more
Amazing service. The food is what you would expect from an Irish pub, but the quality is good. My personal recommendation is the... salt and pepper non breaded dry wings. They are an amazing appetizer. If you're in Guelph Fionn MacCool's is an excellent placefor lunch or dinner. Read more
Just ordered from here and had the worst fish and chips in my life! Potatoes were stale, fish was burnt and did not even taste... like anything but oil! Waste of money Read more
Great experience! Came in with my spouse after 2 years of not doing dine in anywhere, since covid, and everything went... perfectly. We ordered a criss cross fry with nacho toppings and I was blown away by the flavor. The crunchiness of the fries,the heat from the peppers, the bacon, and cheese sauce were all on point. We also had 2 onion soups which were very fresh andfull of flavor. We also ordered 2 drinks, both had a great amount of sweetness and booze but not overly sweet. Waited 2 hours for food to arrive. Server didn't explain what was happening or offer any explanation. Had to ask 2 times for... water and finally we were brought a pitcher with no glasses. The only up side is that the food that took 2 hours to prepare wason the house. Great place for drinks but do not recommend ordering food. Read more
