We hadn't been to La Cucina for over 5 years because we had a very mediocre experience on our last visit. On hearing numerous... good reviews, we thought we'd give it another chance. While the staff was amazing, the food was definitely not up to the qualitywe would expect from what should be an up-scale establishment. The calamari was tough and rubbery. My wife had the gnocchi and Ihad the pork tenderloin. Both were lacking in flavour. I'm not sure how to reconcile the other glowing reviews here with our ourexperience, but I'm sad to say we won't be returning. Read more
I was expecting a great meal based on the reviews but it was an all round disappointing experience for the four of us. Food... was, for the most part, mediocre. The rabbit was inedible. Perhaps this was just an off plate. The other meals were okay butnothing memorable. The service was also, just okay, but again not to a high standard. I believe she was perhaps family or theowner (was an older lady). Prices were good and the atmosphere was quite nice. We were in the dining room which I quite enjoyedand the rooftop patio looked awesome. I would consider returning for a seat at the patio with a nice cocktail or two andperhaps an appetizer. I should add that they did comp the one main (rabbit) that missed the mark and that was appreciated. Read more

Without a question the best and most authentic Italian restaurant in the tri city area. This is the original location, and... having been to both, I can say the food is better here (the other La Cucina restaurant in Kitchener is owned by the sameperson). Chef David is consistently great, the patio has a beautiful vibe, the staff is friendly and service is onpoint. Highly recommend you have an Aperol spritz with your antipasti. If you're not sure what to order, any of the pastadishes are too notch. Or my favorite is to go for the more authentic dishes like rabbit, wild boar, etc. Oh and deserts areunreal, and yes, they have gelato. Read more
Can I leave seven stars? My partner and I booked La Cucina for our wedding. We could not have made a better choice. Bruno, Maria... and Errico, and the whole staff were simply amazing. First off, they always treated us like people they care about. When theweather turned against our outdoor ceremony plans at the University of Guelph, it was no problem to move the ceremony to LaCucina's covered patio. And our day turned out better for it too. The food was out of this world delicious, and all of ourguests told us that they were delighted, and had a great time. We had a great time. Not only do we look forward to going backfor the food, but we look forward to going back for the people. There are not too many places I can say that about. By far my favorite restaurant in Guelph. My boyfriend and I frequently dine here and have always felt very welcomed which is... important to us being a younger couple (late 20s) as we have had poor experiences elsewhere. Along with exceptional service, thefood is always excellent. Their pistachio cheesecake is to die for and when it isn?t being served the tiramisu is also aphenomenal dessert! Read more
