I have been wanting to try this place for a while, having seen their daily specials (especially perogies) on facebook. We were... out for a family hike, and decided to stop at the Old Fashioned Deli afterward for a late lunch. What a disappointment! Weentered with big smiles on our faces, and were greeted by a sour faced blond woman who never smiled the entire time. It made thevisit miserable. She spoke about 3 words to us. It was like we were a burden to her, coming in to spend money. Food was fine,expensive for 3 sandwiches. There WAS another dark haired woman working there who was actually very nice, but the experiencewith the front counter woman was horrible. Just horrible. Never ever again will I go there. We?d been having a great day andthat encounter ruined it for us. (P.s. there are no washrooms, so you have to go next door to the bakery and ask to be let intothe washroom there, through the kitchen. This place just keeps getting better and better! The ladies at the deli/take out side are SO nice and always make the best and... freshest subs. (Ask for a spicy Italian sandwich with the works, I promise you it?s one of the better sandwiches I?ve ever had).10/10 service and food. Along with the bakery section, I?m always cautious about peanuts and nuts in my baked goods and cookiesbut the lady working there informed me that they don?t have any cookies with peanuts or nuts in them so, another 5 stars there!Can?t speak more highly of this place, definitely recommend. I went in to buy mushroom soup. I wanted the large which was hugely expensive at $10.00. I took it to go. I opened and gave... it a try at home. It was the worse mushroom soup I have ever tasted. It was running, one or two mushrooms. That was not theworse of it. It tasted like it was going bad. It had an acidity and tardy taste. It took me half an hour to make it home andthat soup was simply disgusting. I would never ever eat there. Read more

We had catering done for a family event and the food was AMAZING. Tiziana from Old Time Deli made the food not just how we asked... for it but with even a better touch than we had imagined. As we are vegetarian, she was very respectful of our request to makesure there was no meat contact with the food. The fettucine alfredo, the 4-cheese tortellini and the veggie lasagna were evenbetter than what we have eaten at fine Italian restaurants but at a very very reasonable price. The garlic bread was alsoheavenly! We had family and friends ask for her info as they also want catering done for their events. Our own family has beenraving about how the good the food was for days now!! Tiziana was so enthusiastic to help us and a complete pleasure to dealwith. Great tasting sandwiches, freshly made and served right! I had the tuna salad on whole wheat bread and it was quite delicious,... with lots of flavour, soft bread and topped with the freshest veggies. Prompt, friendly service does not hurt either. Servingsizes could be a tad larger given the pricing but on the whole, this beats almost any other establishment in the area for freshsandwiches! Read more
