Great place altogether, these guys have some much space so you don't have to worry about numbers. The attendants were nice and... very helpful. I had a meal with my colleagues and they menu has quite a good variety. The restroom is very decent as well.Parking is great and easy. Read more
Don't forget about Happy Hour! We missed it but that's ok. We still had a good time, it was a quieter evening which allowed us... to talk a littleeasier. Our dinner arrived in a good amount of time. The server and other members of the staff were polite. The restaurant was clean and organized, with nothing out of place. The spinach dip seemed very watery and I could tell it really wasn't homemade, so it was the only food item I could be picky about. Went for lunch for daughter's birthday. Purposely went for a late lunch to avoid a big crowd since there are no Covid protocol... any more. Being a university town I tried to be more cautious. It wasn't too crowded and I think there were minimum staff sowe waited for a while before we got seated. Staff were excellent. Warm greetings and good service. No mistakes on our order. There were 4 of us and only one person had a drink. The bill was 150 bucks. Seems a bit pricy. The food was good though, wellpresented and delicious. Read more
Definitely a favorite restaurant! Tried this location when I visited Guelph last year and have been back multiple times,... including this past week for lunch. The food is always delicious. The pictures attached are the fish and chips and the pistachiocrusted salmon with asparagus and mash potatos. Both were generous portions and were delicious! The wait time for food wasn'tlong and the staff were also really friendly! Will definitely visit again. Read more
I got takeout from here on Sunday night. My order wasn?t quite ready when I arrived so I ended up speaking with the lady working... behind the bar. She was so friendly and welcoming despite restrictions keeping anybody from dining in the restaurant. During ourconversation I mentioned my birthday was the next day and she acted quickly to throw in a brownie with my order. Thatinteraction alone would have gotten them 5 stars but the food was also fantastic. Everything was so delicious. I woulddefinitely go back there and encourage my friends to as well. Read more
My first visit to a State & Main anywhere. Overall, food is good and portions are good. Few extra chips would've been nice for... the spinach and Artichoke dip as we had plenty of dips left and only a small handful of chips for 4 ppl. My beef Dip wasplentiful, and the dill dip French fries are actually very nice. Wife had the fish Taco meal and stated very nice tasting. Myonly one comment, is that the menu is small. Let's clarify something here... small menu is perfectly fine but I expect aslightly higher quality level with this sort of experience. I'm sure a vast majority was frozen foods deep fried etc. Forexample, Cactus Club in Edmonton, similar prices and size of menu, but everything is hand made and superior quality. Overall Iwould return to a State & Main for "big box" expectations style meal. Read more
