Went here a couple of times with my daughters and both times we had a wonderful experience. Food was fantastic and our server... was so pleasant, always had a smile on her face. Wow. I've lived here for a few years and threatened to go Sugo for that time. Tonight, I finally made it. I have been missing... out for all the time I've lived here ! The atmosphere, the staff, the service and the food. Amazing. From the moment the dooropened and we were met, greeted, our coats taken and then brought to our table through to leaving and the staff all saying ggoodnight, the service was impeccable. The menu was perfect and, on selection, the served dishes were amazing. Presentation,portions and taste were perfect. Overall this was a top tier experience comparable to any major city. We love ordering Sugo take out! We order regularly and can say the food is always great quality and fresh! I have yet to dine in... but I can say the customer service is amazing even on the phone. I speak with Alex when I call and he’s always so nice andprofessional. He recently suggested a pizza that was on special and it did not disappoint. Sugo is hands down best take out inGuelph! Went with my wife for Dinner and the place is really cozy and has a good ambiance. Food was really good and the portion sizes... were great. The service was exceptional. The place was full and recommend to make a reservation. Parking is available at theback and is limited. You may have to find roadside parking. Recommend this restaurant with five stars and would definitelyreturn. Read more
A group of us went on a Thursday evening. It was nice to be upstairs which, I understand, is newly renovated. Bottles of wine... are 1/2 price on Thursdays and pizzas are $5 off. The small garden salad was only $5 with a nice presentation of an oval bowl ona triangular plate. A delicious salad with quite a nice variety of different fresh vegetables. The Mediterranean pizza was agenerous portion and could be shared with two people. The hazelnut cheesecake was divine--do not offer to share! You will wantto eat it all yourself since it is super yummy! Our server, Sam, was excellent especially with juggling many different ordersfrom our large group. This place is homey and the customer service is great. The food was delicious and the portions as you can see from the photos... are quite generous. First impressions count! Enjoyed dinner with friends this evening at Sugo on Surrey in downtown Guelph. GO THERE Sumptuous... flavourful food ???? Cozy, warm atmosphere on the top floor dining space. 18 stairs up, I’m a counter, btw. Friendly &efficient service. Great date night location in my opinion. Already looking forward to dining outside next summer. And, ifyou’re having takeout, pick up is around back. Read more
We were seated at the bar because we hadn’t reserved early enough and that turned out to be a great experience. It was sun... watching the bartender make the various custom drinks on offer there, especially the Smokey Old Fashioned and Whiskey Sour whichcreated a lovely charred woodsmoke aroma around the bar.
