Very cool spot on the edge of town. Unassuming but the atmosphere was great. They had the place all done up for Halloween. The... BBQ was pretty legit - definitely not what we were expecting to find in the valley. Wings pictures. Collards were alsophenomenal as well as the Okra. Our server (the owner?) Overall 4.75 (read on to see why 2 stars) Food 4.75 huge portions, tasty food, loved the beef rib, food was lukewarm and... precooked; Service 5 very attentive, friendly servers, food came out quickly; Atmosphere 5 fully decorated, attention to detailincluding glassware and water bottles, plenty of well spaced seating. A 2 was given because the owner walked by at least 10times to greet and checkup on other diners including those seated at tables and at the bar being careful not to miss anyone.But?not once did she stop to checkup or say hi to me. As a single diner I would think it important to say hi. I don?t take itpersonally but there were at least 12 other parties in the bar area where I sat which she talked to. As good as you would get at her mother's house! And I grew up next door so I know it. Open 4-9 for now. Complimentary chicken... skin cracklins with a tangy hot sauce come out first. No cornbread yet, but a small waffle with sweet butter come with everyentree. Fried chicken was juicy and had a savory breading.Can't wait to go back and try the catfish! Read more
I had an amazing experience at saucy Mama's! Although they were not yet open to the public, Yvette and Tim (owners) invited our... group of weary travelers to come into their restaurant, join their small private celebration, and enjoy some of their deliciousfood as a gift. Everything was very delicious, but their collard greens and their chicken really stuck in my mind. Yvette andTim's welcoming and warm energy, their delicious food, and the beautiful decor made this a place I'll make sure to return towhenever I visit Guerneville again. Read more
Y?all! Listen to me when I say the food is amazing! Originally from Mobile, Alabama, my husband and I spend half of our time in... California. After trying multiple so-called Southern restaurants, only to be extremely disappointed, Saucy Mama?s gave me thetaste of home I yearn for while in the Bay Area.
