We had reservations for 5:30 and arrived at 5:20. Waitress came and took drink and food orders. Our wine came quick. Our food,... salads and panini’s, were still not ready at 6:48. There were only 6 tables of customers. One of the people in our party wentto the restroom and came out saying the restroom was very dirty. With that we decided to cancel our order and leave. The sameperson that said the bathroom was dirty walked into the kitchen to tell them to cancel our order. The kitchen had food on thefloor and the counter tops were greasy. They claim that some of their food is “Certified Gluten Free,” not sure how thathappened with such a filthy kitchen. We paid for the drinks and tipped our waitress. We will never go back. Read more

So went to ballot’s when a young man Brian ran it had no issues and was pleased to assist when was questioned. Came back... recently and the food was horrible, seemed like no one could cook. The food had seemed to be reheated and was not worth payingfor. The owner needs to be involved more, this restaurant is a disgrace to the food industry. My cousin who in only 10 can cookfood better and I couldn’t believe how the company wasn’t interested in fixing the issues. The servers seem to be hired withno training or knowledgeable. The company needs to really look into the food aspect. They should really bring Brian back sincehe was great and the cooks seem not to care about their food since they aren’t eating it. Outside area was well spaced but tables were dirty, food was somewhat tasty but lukewarm, and service was mediocre. Some of the... food had good taste. Some was ok like the risotto. Despite ordering appetizers 20 mins before dinner it all basically came outwithin minutes and the dinners were lukewarm. Pasta was mushy. And the server was nice when engaged but inattentive which wasodd since it wasn’t busy for most of the night. Read more

We had quite a disappointing experience the other night. We wanted to celebrate something special and chose Ballous where we ate... before and we found it decent. I personally preferred the previous outdoor space: it was cozier and more inviting than thecurrent blacktop with no planters or decor of any kind. Service was ok last time; however, on this most recent occasion, wewaited about 20 minutes for a glass of wine, then another half an hour for a simple cheese “platter.” Three sad lookingcheeses were plopped down in the middle of a large wooden board, with no effort spent on presentation. The cheese was mediocreat best and was accompanied with bread that was passed up as lightly toasted and seasoned but it was rather stale and bland.With so many farms in the area and a few great bakers, I am surprised not more effort is made to serve something more memorable.We also had the stuffed figs which were ok. Luckily, because everything came out painfully slowly, we cancelled our main coursejust in time. We won’t be returning soon for sure. Read more

Loved Ballou’s! In town from NJ and we hope to be back. For starters we had a Seared Tuna appetizer which was delicious. My... boyfriend and I both had combos. He had the Prosciutto, Mozzarella Tomato Panini with Lobster Bisque. I had the Brie & ApricotPanini with the Field Greens and Apple Salad. Both of us enjoyed our dinners. We wanted to try the Bishop’s local wine, butthat was unfortunately not in stock. We did try the Santa Julia Organic Chardonnay and that was pleasant.
