I recently visited the hidden gem of a town known as Guntersville and had dinner at Top O? The River. This is a very popular... spot for a good reason. I recommend the combo with catfish and fried shrimp. Also, I suggest visiting around sunset to get anawesome view while you eat. Read more

My wife and I were in town during a long weekend. We decided on having dinner at a spot with a view of the lake and settled on... Top O? The River. The place was bustling when we arrived however we were sat immediately after arriving and our waitress quicklytook our drink orders. After a few minutes, our waitress returned and took our dinner order. I ordered The Riverboat Special andmy wife ordered a steak with a baked potato. My catfish was hot, crispy and delicious but my wife felt her steak was a bit overcooked and she mentioned that it wasn?t seasoned. Overall, our experience at Top O?The River was good but not great. All I can say is wow!!! This restaurant is so nice. It sits right in front of the river, which makes eating here more... pleasurable. You can look at the river while you're eating your dinner. This restaurant is nestled in beautiful GuntersvilleAlabama, my home town. Now let's get to the customer service, it was awesome!!! Our waitress was friendly and attentive!! Thefood, it was delicious and hot!!! I enjoyed every bite!!! They give you plenty of it to!!! They serve a small cast iron skilletof cornbread and coleslaw in a little tin kettle, along with pickled onions while you wait for your entrée. I will definitelybe going back there, and I'm so glad I'm moving back here. Read more

This is my all time favorite so far. The wait was a little long to get in,but, man it was worth it. The fried catfish was... delicious. Also came with a personal skillet of cornbread, slaw, hush puppies and your choice of fries or baked potato. And ofcourse sweet tea. So much food. All delicious and reasonably priced. If you can stand the wait, you definitely need to go. Youwon't be sorry. Read more

View is beautiful. The food is always delicious. The staff is always friendly. Worth the drive. The mustard greens and slaw are... a must. It is a 50/50 shot if you get upset tummy or not on the way back home. Not many gas stations. But it is worth it everytime lol Read more

If you have a weekend to spare and are not in a rush to get home than you have to experience this place, even if just one time... if passing through. The food is amazing and rich with a great flavor. The cornbread is great with a nice buttery taste and Inormally do not like cornbread. The catfish portions are amazing and breaded nicely. All portions for almost anything you orderare large enough to satisfy anyone. The only downside is the wait can be quite long, specifically in the morning with the linestretching out sometimes. So plan accordingly. The staff are very friendly and the atmosphere of the inside ties greatly to theview of the water in the back of the location. Read more

Great food, service, and portions! Top O' The River always starts you off with pickled onions, slaw, and cornbread which is an... awesome combination by itself! If you like turnip greens, I highly suggest you try them. Don't order a large unless you have alarge group! I had their ribeye today and it was awesome. Honestly I have never had a bad meal at TOTR and I have ate almosteverything once from their menu. If you're in the Guntersville area it's a must stop. Read more

This was my first time experiencing Top O the River. I has always heard that it was good eating from family. So the trick is... don't get full on the cornbread, coleslaw, and Fried pickles! They are all so good but you won't be able to eat yourfood! Everything was good country cooking and our server Oliva was so nice and attentive. Read more
