After many visits and finding out this may be consistently the best restaurant we visit in Lake County IL. I had to share how... good it really is. We enjoy the over whelming friendliness and great service from the employees. The food is as good asestablishments that charge double the prices. Pictured are Clams Casino and Grilled Calamari appetizers that are made toperfection. Next would be Leslie's Salmon always perfectly cooked and delicious and my wife favorite Salmon dinner. I also havethe Beef Wellington which is superb and on the menu every day. Last nights special was Halibut cooked in a paper bag which wasperfect. Last pictured are one of my favorites The New York Strip Steak which may be the most favorable I have ever had and thebest of over 15 restaurants I compared it against. Last would be the nut crusted Red Snapper which is a large portion and verytasty. They have live music in the bar most Friday nights and the bar staff is amazing the drinks are strong and veryreasonable as well. This place is a treat to go to! Read more

A wonderful spot for lunch and breakfast. The place is cute, clean and staff is very friendly, Eva was so nice and efficient.... The food portions were average as well as prices. The chilaquiles were delicious! The place partners with a local artist anddisplays the artwork through the place which can be purchased, a super cool idea. Read more

We were celebrating our son's birthday. 3 of our party ordered the beef Wellington. 2 of the Wellingtons arrived as expected. ... My son's wellington was rare. Nearly blue. After our meal, he became violently ill. Projectile vomit and dehydrated all nightand drained the next day. The GM was apologetic and graciously offered to have my son back for another meal. He agreed. Thesecond meal my son was served spoiled lobster. The smell of ammonia coming from the lobster was so potent that everyone at thetable could smell it once it was placed on the table We asked our waiter to smell it and the face he made after was priceless!The consistency of the lobster was cottage cheese. When we told the GM that sadly, we would not be coming back, he replied"frankly, I wouldn't either." That speaks volumes. The wait staff is fantastic and the bread is pretty fabulous. Great place! Pricey but great food. I wouldn't bring my young kids here, to me the atmosphere is sophisticated. Eric the... manager was great, attentive, and very welcoming. There was one issue, I thought was ridiculous- my incredible waiter grabbedthe wrong drink and the bar tender came over and embarrassed him in front of all of us... that was absolutely not cool. I wouldhave given 5 stars if that didn't happen. When I'm back in IL, I will definitely go back to Stevens! Read more

Well since I started another job up north close to Gurnee working in my usual field of drafting I was invited to a farewell... party to a coworker who's worked there for so many years and they took him to the best. Surprisingly they took me to the bestbecause we got to order whatever we had despite that this was a work-related and not on my own accord but I will be coming backhere on my own accord. Beware the prices are somewhat high for steak but then again it makes it for the quality since I've neverbeen here and it's my first time trying Steven's steakhouse in a very low-key area next to Great America on Washington Streetbuy a strip plaza I was familiar with when I used to do my college meetups up here long ago in mid-2000s and a few times in the90s traveling to Waukegan Gurnee area. Anyways the food is fabulous. Starting off with the coconut shrimp that I was eventhinking that everybody else was stinking. The shrimp was just the right size the batter that it was made in was just the amountthat was not to full of batter likewise with the coconut the sauce that they use. The calamari was also delicious too theydidn't also bread too much or batter too much over the squid and they gave you two choices of sauce which was actually prettygood. There is a lot of very good dishes I wanted that day between lamb chops and the steak since I haven't had steak for awhile at a steakhouse and this place didn't disappoint. I ordered the 11 oz New York strip medium rare and I had a choice ofsides I went for a more healthier approach avoiding carbs by eating a broccoli and the way they cook the broccoli was not to hotand moist. If not soggy. I ended my pallet with a dessert I haven't had which is creme brulee which was also very delicious thecaramelization on the custard was just the right amount on the surface and the right amount of fruits they put on the cremebrulee. I've waited about 10 years to return and give this steakhouse a second chance, and I'm glad I came back! The service was... efficient and friendly, and the atmosphere was that of a comfortable steakhouse without feeling too stuffy. The whole meal wascompletely on point; my ribeye steak was perfect, my soup delicious as was the salad and bread. The wine list is a bit light onthe red side, but good selection nonetheless. Had our office Christmas party there in a private room last night and had an amazing experience. I booked with Brad in October ... He was fantastic to deal with and so incredibly helpful and kind. When I got there he made sure to check in with me to see ifthe room was to my satisfaction(beautifully decorated) and made sure to let me know he was there all night if I neededanything. .I wish I knew the name of the server we had because he was top notch!!! We were a party of 15 and he kept up withthe drinks during our cocktail and appetizer ( calamari, shrimp cocktail the size of small children and the bruschetta wereamazing) hour like a champ. When we finally settled into our seats he made sure everyone was comfortable had time to look overthe menu and took our orders perfectly. The food did not take long to come out for a big group and was made to perfection. Everyone loved the meals they chose from the full menu. Desserts were ordered and again delicious. The fact that the restauranthad pretty much closed by the time WE decided to leave and were not rushed at all was also fantastic. Very good food. Although it's known for steaks I had the chicken piccata plate with pasta. Big portion, had left... overs. Calamari appetizer was ok...tentacles delicious but the rings were huge, a bit too big for my liking but cookedperfectly. Wedge salad ...perfect and delicious.
