I don't want to be someone who looks a gift horse in the mouth, as we did attend this establishment for a Christmas party hosted... by our workplace. Negatives: lipstick on wine glasses, non matching glassware and flatware, tablecloths were wrinkled and dirty, plates with smudges, no limes at the bar, out of 4 beers we asked for, draft beer was foam, brisket over cooked and left to sitin its fats and oils, potatoes were cooked with, what I assumed, was a flame thrower, mezzanine atmosphere couldn't have beenmore dull. Positives: Salad was fresh, server was attentive and apologetic. Christmas parties should be an establishment's toppriority but I guess we will chock it up to another potentially good restaurant falling victim to the post Covid apocalypse offailing small businesses. Some of the best chicken and waffles I've had in a long time. Such a cool building too. Definitely worth a stop in on your next... trip. Read more

We were visiting in the area and stopped by Bulls and Bears for lunch. The service was quick and our waitress was super... friendly. For my drink, I got the Peach Moscato Sangria and loved it. We started off with the crab dip as an appetizer whichwas the perfect temperature and had a great flavor. As for entrees, my fiancé got the chicken and waffle sandwich which heenjoyed. I took a bite of the waffle and it was very tasty. As for the bacon jam burger, I was left disappointed. The ?jam?itself was more like a salsa than a jam? It tasted like a thin layer of chunky salsa on top of the burger instead of a moretraditional jelly/jam that I?m used to. I also just didn?t love the flavor of it that much. Overall, the food and service wasgood. If we are in town again, we?d consider revisiting. Read more

Service was great and place was very clean. Food was good but the mushroom truffle flatbread was supposed to have shaved... truffles and truffle oil and it had neither so that was disappointing. Mashed potatoes had perfect texture but wereunderseasoned. Greenbeans were very good. Read more

Solid beer selection and decent menu. I was tempted by the poke bowl (it was meh) but all the dishes had generous portion sizes.... Atmosphere is chill and staff is helpful Read more

I've been to Bulls and Bears several times over the years and I've always enjoyed the food. The selection has always stayed... fairly broad. It's nice to go to a place and see new items every so often. This time I tried the Szechuan Short Ribs. Thedish was well presented although it had a little too much fat on it. My wife was the winner of the night. She ordered thechicken Baltimore and it was delicious. The Old Bay cream sauce was just right. A lot of things made with old bay and end upbeing too salty. A chicken was lightly breaded and deep fried but still juicy. We both had a side of broccoli that was goodand while I had a side of rice she had a side of mashed potatoes which went great with the old bay cream sauce. My only advicewould be to put a little more crab on top. Both of our meals were $24 a piece. If you're not familiar with bulls and bearsthey have a nice layout inside a cool building but still have outside seating on the sidewalk. Our server did an awesome job. He was truly working his tail off since he was the only server working on a Saturday night. Luckily we went early. I feel badfor the guy. Read more

Bulls & Bears in downtown Hagerstown has been one of the best restaurants in the area! The remodeled section of this building... is amazing! They have private back rooms for dinner parties as well as two other spaces to accommodate larger groups. But mostof all the food is awesome and most times one of a kinda! I don?t know how COVID has affected them but I?m glad to see they arestill around now. There is a parking garage attached to the building and an entrance directly to that floor so you do not needto deal with the weather. Until COVID shut our world down this was the place we had a family/friends Christmas dinner. Fortyplus people in a private separate section that is bigger than some places I?ve been. Honestly never got to know the staffenough to know them by name but always felt at home. If you live within an hour drive of this place I is an absolutely must! Make the drive and check it out! If you live further and want to just get out and try something new or are passing through... Iwould recommend you stop in! It is not hard to get to off of i70 or i81 in Maryland. Great Food, Great Bar, Great Atmosphere!!! Read more
