Safron made our daughter's wedding cake, and also catered her bridal shower and post wedding brunch. Al (the owner) has the... best bakery in Hagerstown! His quiet helpful demeanor makes working with him a joy. For our daughter's wedding he made thetraditional cake, assorted miniature fruit tarts, cheesecakes, cupcakes and brownies, and delivered them to the venue and setthem up. Our guests had compliment after compliment. The food he provided for her bridal shower went way beyond expectation. SoI naturally asked him if he could do the post wedding brunch. Again, compliment after compliment from our guests. At first Iwanted to micro manage both events but I let him decide the exact details. I asked for sandwiches and desserts for the showerand breakfast items for the brunch. At the shower he made sandwiches, ham, turkey, roast beef, gluten free, vegetarian, plusplus plus! For the brunch he suggested quiches, pastries, bagels, fruits etc. He made it all less stressful and I'm so glad hewas there to help. Wonderful service, food, prices and person! Highly recommend! Just got a birthday cake for my sons bday. He wanted the whipped cream icing. Ok I?ve had whipped cream icing before you... know?it?s ok. Nothing to write home about. My husband was beyond disappointed with our sons choice. But Safrons?.I don?t knowwhat they do but it?s Ah-ma-zing!!! Everyone at our party was raving about it. Seriously. Everyone said ?this is the bestwhipped cream icing I?ve ever had!? My husband even said yea I guess it was ok which is all he could say to without admitting hewas wrong. Way to go! We stopped a Safron Bakery on our way to Buffalo from Northern Virginia. Google maps lead us a merry chase in finding them... (it's a 2020 building and Maps has not caught up as of July 2021) but it was very much worth the adventure! One of the bestlattes I've had and the croissant was spot on! Tip for finding them - search for the Sheetz on Eastern next to the shoppingcenter Safron is in. Read more
We stopped by at lunch time. We got a Pesto Roast beef sandwich on an asiago bagel. It was a great sandwich. The roast beef... was piled on an sliced thin so it was super tender. The tomatoes and lettuce, & provolone cheese and the pesto was verydelicious. The asiago bagel was very good also. We also had the California Salad. The avocado was ripe the goat cheese wasgreat, the tomatoes were fresh and ripe, there was roasted corn, the lettuce was a spring mix. The dressing was a balsamicvinaigrette that was very good. We also had baklava and a cannoli. All of the food and desserts were fantastic. The staff werevery friendly and helpful. We sat outside at one of there tables and one of the young men brought out our food. That was verynice and unexpected. The prices were very good. The food was all very good. This bakery used to be near my house & I remember it being good. But I went yesterday to its new location & ordered a chocolate... muffin & 2 bacon egg & cheese croissants. The muffin was hard as a rock & I couldn?t even break it apart. I asked if they hadsomething fresher & they did bring me out a warm muffin that was much softer. The croissants were fine, but the egg was overcooked (brown) & I?ve gotten more bacon on a McDonalds sandwich. It was so thin & only 2 small pieces. It was very disappointing& I don?t think I?ll be returning. Read more
