Nothing about the restaurant decor or experience stuck out as good or bad. It was mediocre like the food. Authentic Thai curry... is usually a safe gluten-free option. The server did not seem super confident in answering my questions but he went back to thekitchen for confirmation. We ended up getting the Massaman Curry and the Pad Thai, both with chicken and any necessary glutenand dairy adjustments/precautions. I did not get sick. The Massaman did not look or taste like any Massaman I?ve had in thepast. It did not taste bad but it also did not taste good. I would not order it again. The pad Thai tasted much better but was abit sweet. We were able to fix that by adding some additional spices. I would give the restaurant a try again to see if otheritems tasted better. Read more
This is by far the best Thai food I've ever had. Had the chicken pad thai and had been let down in the past in restaurants in... New York and Virginia because they were so bland. Visited from out of town and I had a taste for Thai food. Of the three Thai restaurants in the area, I randomly picked Silk. I... am SO glad I did! The food was excellent and I highly recommend the silk calamari!!! The soft shell crab in panang curry wasdelicious. Going forward, this will be "the" restaurant I go to each time I visit Hagerstown. Their pad see ew is on point! No sloppy, gloppy noodles at this place. The menu says this dish is made with fresh noodles and... I believe it. I?m not sure if the picture I?ve provided is doing this dish justice, but in person I could tell the noodles werecooked properly before I even got around to tasting them. Texture is EVERYTHING people. These noodles weren?t overcooked andmanaged to achieve a bit of char from the palm sugar in the sauce caramelizing in the hot wok. The broccoli was cookedperfectly. It wasn?t raw nor steamed to death, or swimming in sauce. Crushed peanuts and a slice of lemon/lime wedge wouldhave been a nice touch, but I?m not complaining!!! Too many restaurants, coast to coast, mess this dish up. It?s my favoriteThai comfort food and I almost always forgo ordering it because I don?t want to have to spend the rest of my evening complainingabout everything that was wrong with it. But I was already in a bad mood and figured I might as well go for broke and orderedit. And I?m SO HAPPY I DID!!! I walked out of there in a much better mood. The place was clean. Ordered dinner online via my smartphone since I was out grocery shopping with my wife, and the order was ready as indicated on... my app. Stopped by another place to get pizza for the kids and drove home. We settled in to eat, and OH MY GOSH! The flavors! Mywife and I were floored by just how delicious our order was, and we definitely enjoyed it!
