On our recent and return trip to Baker City Oregon we made reservations at the Haines Steak House. The food was delicious and... the service prompt and people there take good care of the customers. I had the ribeye steak. My husband had the T-bone steak thesalad bar was fresh. We had the best visit with the folks at the front desk. We had left overs of course with enough food forbreakfast and lunch ???????? before we came home on Sunday We will definitely be back. Read more

I have been too this restaurant many different times and get super excited about going since I was a kid. Last night I was just... so disappointed on how we were treated. We had made reservations ahead of time to give them a heads up on how many people wouldbe coming. This was a friends birthday. We get there and they give us a menu that only had a few different options and was themost expensive items off the menu and it was not even the regular menu . We ask for the other menu that everyone else had andthey wouldn?t give it too us until it was a fight and the owner pulled a fit on giving us them. I just lost my appetite and justhad to walk out. I would have too say that was the most poor customer services I have ever had and was just disappointed. Do notthink I will be going back there anytime soon. If your going too have a restaurant and a menu better make sure that everyone isgoing too be treated equally has the same menu. If you can?t keep up with the menu you have you should probably relook at it toowere you can have the same menu and food for everyone. Read more
The staff here was incredibly friendly, but weren?t too happy that I came alone. I was here during graduation time and the... Eastern Oregon Livestock Trade Show & Rodeo so it was busier than normal. Took off two stores because the employees at the saladbar were man-handling the salad with bare hands, touching most all of it, and even tossing bits that fell off of the sides backinto the bowl. Steak was also unseasoned or so under seasoned that I couldn?t tell. Au Jus was akin to water so that didn?t helpwith the flavor unfortunately. I was told this was the best steak house in the area, and it was disappointing. Honestly Iwouldn?t recommend this place or come back, but I appreciate the friendly staff. Read more
Was very excited to visit this steak house. Had heard from people how fantastic it was. Unfortunately it fell short. The service... was awful. Our server was unattentative, the owner was clueless and the host didnt care. We were left 15 mins before our serveracknowledged us. Mozzarella sticks were premade frozen products. Salad bar is old and outdated. We waited for our long proppedup steaks. I ordered the steak with wasabi butter that was raw, cold and topped with green snot. Wife order ribeye with lobsterthat was cold and undercooked. Everything was extremely bland. Sent our steaks back and our server disappeard. Steaks can seeback the second time and were still undercooked, they refried my fries, and my wife didnt get her lobster for 20 mins. Went andtried to talk to a manager or owner and never saw anyone. We waited and waited and noone ever came. We had a show to catch so weleft. Literally the worst dining experience I have ever had. Do not go here. Editing to reply to owner: We did not dine anddash. We gave you all every opportunity to fix the problem several times. We also did not walk in. I made a reservation. We didnot get bread until we got our entrees. I had to ask for bread as the server forgot to give it to us. As for the steak, youshould always season regardless of the "grade". The steak you bought and are so proud of is tough and full of grissel. Ratherthan admit you messed up you are making excuses. Hope you improve but you will not if you cant take criticism. Read more

I expected more, the shrimp was frozen and pre breaded , prime rib I order med rare it was med . The people are great salad bar... good. Great local people. I'd go there again Read more
