Excellent service, great drinks and apps. Samantha was our server and she was incredible. We really enjoyed our appetizers -... goat cheese and mushroom dip and the onion rings. Both were delicious. Main dishes came out lukewarm/borderline cold. Forentrees the Keg wins hands down but the service and atmosphere at Chop were both fantastic. Not sure if we will return. Read more
This restaurant is chic! The decor reminded us of many restaurants in Vancouver. Very fancy. Loved the Manitoba bread appetizer... with brown butter and the donations to the local food bank - what a great cause! Personally I don?t recommend the seafoodchowder as their was a minuscule amount of lobster and the lemon was quite overpowering. My husband is plant based and thevegetarian menu was surprisingly varied and he raved about his avocado tofu bowl. I had the New York steak and it was cooked toperfection with generous side portions! Love the Happy Hour here. Some nice appetizers offered along with drink specials in a pretty bar lounge. Dinner was great, too.... Love the crust on the steak I ordered and the chowder was loaded with seafood. It tasted a bit lemony but, actually, after acouple of spoonfuls, the hubby and I loved it. If you like steak then you can't go wrong. Just wow Chops just wow. Simply Devine. The smoked ribeye with mash and peppercorn... sauce. Very nice place. Great atmosphere very friendly staff. Can't say enough good things about our dining experience last night at Chops Steakhouse Halifax. I made reservations weeks ago... for our anniversary at The Sutton and Chops and I wasn't disappointed. The decor and request for a quiet table away from the barwas honored and made for a lovely evening. Our server Sherri went above and beyond. Very knowledgeable and friendly was a puredelight. Our dinner was delicious and I was surprised at how quickly it arrived. And the complimentary dessert was out of thisworld! ???? The signed card from the staff, such a nice touch! Highly recommended! Very good experience. We made a reservation for 5:45, and got in as soon as we walked in. The atmosphere was dark and cozy,... pretty quiet for happy hour in the dining area. We ordered two steaks: filet mignon medium rare and NY strip medium. Onceserved, we quickly noticed the steaks were over cooked. We pointed it out, they took it back and re-cooked successfully. Thereason I'm giving 5 stars is for how the restaurant handled it. Our waiter was extraordinary, with great recommendations, quickresponses and very responsive to our requests. The manager came over and apologized as well, which wasn't necessary, but a nicegesture otherwise. The good ended up being excellent. Steaks were great, sides a good portion and the desserts wereexquisite. I will likely return, and would highly recommended. Read more
Went for a friends birthday celebration, an amazing atmosphere, server was amazing as well, fun and bubbly. Food was delicious,... the only complaint was the blueberry cheesecake was extremely dry. Overall would recommend and cannot wait to go back. Read more
