Love this place, I used to eat lunch there once a week for several years before transferring to a different location here in... town that sadly does not have a Dixie House nearby. I still go when I can, but wish one was closer so I could enjoy more often.The Dixie House is what it is. A cafe that serves the most consistent food at low prices. Comfort food at it?s finest served oncafeteria style plastic plates (chicken fried steak covers the whole thing) that comes just minutes after ordering. This used to be a good place for Chicken Fried Steak and similar items, but in my opinion the food quality has gone downhill in... those areas. Service and management is lacking as well. The burgers and the dixie fries are still good (probably because theyhave to make those fresh), but the daily plate specials have suffered. Today I had the Chicken Fried Steak plate and both thefood and the service was cold. No wait staff followed up at our table, and no management asked how the meal was. This is comingfrom someone who has been a regular there for over 10 years and is used to better quality of food and service there. This placeneeds to improve to get my business back. Read more

The WORST excuse EVER for southern food. After just two bites I demanded a refund. I would suggest to anyone to STAY AWAY from... this joke of a café. I would eat canned dog food before I would ever eat at this god forsaken place. I hope they go out ofbusiness!!! Read more
My friend took me to eat for my bday today there for breakfast around 10-10:30am i believe. Have to say was very disapointed... ...my pancakes seemed to have been old, her hashbrowns were sawgy and sausage seemed to have just been sitting off to the sideand just put on plate (weren't even crispy nor warm)...but the eggs, coffee and unsweet tea were very good...staff seemed verynice as well...but this morning's breakfast wasn't at all what we'd hoped Read more
This place use to be very good but the last few time we have gone there it has not been very good...we ate there again yesterday... for lunch and ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken, corn, okra, salad, and a drink for 2. $30.00 (I had mashed potato's instead ofthe okra)....The chicken was BIG but tasted horrible. The corn tasted old or cheap, not sure. My husband took one bite of okraand would not eat anymore. The salad was good and so were the rolls. The mashed potato's were dry, not homestyle at all. The staff here is horrible and careless. Stacey is rude and has no human compassion. She couldn?t apologize for a mistake her... staff made with a food allergy that landed my family member in the hospital. Instead gave me rude comments like ?my family wouldof had correct supplies if there is a food allergy? and ?my staff was never told of a food allergy? she treated the situationlike if I was looking for something free when all I wanted was some accountability and an apology. She refused to give me namesfor anyone at the corporate office. She is definitely a poor excuse for a ?manager? that she claims to be. Read more
