Very nice to have ethnic food options like this food truck. We had: jerk chicken w/ rice and peas & curried goat w/ coleslaw and... fries. I found chicken to be a bit on the dry side. Unfortunately the portion wasn?t that great, it was more like ?jerk rice?.Goat was nicely marinated and tender. But again there was too much rice. The ratio of meat to rice isn?t right. They arefriendly but they easily panic and get upset when things go awry. For instance several more customers came after us, then theyrushed and forgot to put our fries. If they learn to step back and remain calm and professional (instead of emotional) then I?dgive them another star. Read more
As a person from the Caribbean, this food is disgusting. The jerk chicken tastes like it was marinated with premade grocery... paste and oven baked. The rice and peas is bland and colourless, I literally counted 2 red beans in the meal. Lastly, I've neverseen or tasted raisons in ANY coleslaw. I've been several times but have to say yesterday's experience was exceptional! The food was great, as always! Great flavors... and generous portions. What made the visit yesterday at the outlet mall standout was the young man who helped me. Incrediblyfriendly, funny, kind...he actually turned my day around! My wife and I were shopping at the Premium Outlet Mall this morning which turned into the afternoon by the time we were done. It... is exhausting walking around the stores etc. Having lived in Barbados for a year in my younger years, I had an instant cravingand connection when I saw the food truck. I really enjoy the subtleness along with the "in your face " spiciness that makeCaribbean cuisine so amazing and delicious. Therefore, it was a no brainer for me to try this Jerk Chicken food truck locatednear the front entrance facing Steeles to take home and enjoy. We ordered: 1) Jerk Chicken Meal with Rice & Peas with coleslawfor an additional $0.75. 2) Jerk Chicken wrap 3) A Side of fries. It all come out to about $25.00 after taxes. The jerkchicken was ok, it was not bad at all. But it was missing that BBQ smokiness and aroma to it. Maybe I am just too used to my favJamaican restaurant's flavours. But all in all, I love to support local businesses. And operating a food truck / food industryis hard work, so my respect and my hats off to the owner.
