The Everyday Gourmet is my favorite deli in the New Haven area. My favorite sandwiches include The Jenna, The Big John, and of... course a fan favorite - The Cluckin Russia. Extremely overpriced for mediocre food. I had the Chicken Marsala with Broccoli Rabe, super salty rabe and tough chicken meaning... it was not fresh. I should have gotten out when I noticed the dust and cobwebs around the place and on the decor on the walls soclose to the tables. My husband had the panini of the day, which was decent but definitely not worth the $14 . I almost neverwrite bad reviews, but hey, if you call yourselves a gourmet establishment you need to live up to it. At least reduce the numberof items on the menu, focus on what you can do instead of an ambitious 3 page menu. We?d chosen to eat there because of the ravereviews online but were sorely disappointed. This place is a hidden gem. Absolutely amazing food. Chicken parm amazing, The Godfather sub Amazing! The burgers are to die... for. Food is so good i sat frozen in my car for 10 minutes with my mind blown after having the brunch burger. Read more
