What an amazing place, we had the pleasure of having Michael, he was outstanding and really went beyond to make sure our night... was great. Food was absolutely delicious, the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxing, the people were polite and the drinks weretop notch, I would definitely go there again and again, I couldn't believe I have live near Hamilton for 30 years and have neverbeen. Thank you Michael for turning around our 8 Year anniversary, it means a ton. And I have to add if you don't get thepretzels and beer cheese your so missing out! Read more

The experience of this place was nothing short of 5 stars. The atmosphere hits correctly, the people were cool and I think for... what you're getting food-wise, it's appropriately priced. I was iffy on getting the bread sticks but... Get them. You need toget them. From my wife and I, get them. As long as you go in understanding it might cost slightly more than cheaper places youmay normally go to, there's no downside in this place. Read more
Very nice place, food was good, however the service was absolutely horrible, went for lunch the place was not busy at... all....took half hour for drink order to be taken....once food order went in took an hour to get our food! Good luck to anyonewho goes there when busy!....should have just went to Pizza shop down the street! Read more
Good, but if you sit outside be prepared to share your dinner with yellow jackets, flies, and other insects. Totally ruined our... experience. Food was good and the server was pleasant. But, something seriously needs to be done with the infestation of flyinginsects, especially if someone is deathly allergic. Read more

During our stay at the Colgate Inn, we enjoyed dinner and breakfast at The Tavern restaurant. If just reviewing based on dinner,... it deserves a 3 star rating, but breakfast was a review savior. We enjoyed the Shepherd's Breakfast, Eggs Benedict, and theMediterranean Flatbread-which was a breakfast bread bowl creation recommended by the waitress and a delightful surprise! Dinnerstarted out wonderfully with this near perfect Brussel sprouts and bacon starter and a Saranac root beer on tap. The salmon andrisotto would have been a winner if the risotto had been cooked a few minutes longer, the Alfredo and mushroom pasta was asexpected, and the wedge salad with chicken was average, but fine. It was the papardelle spinach pasta with seared scallops thatturned out to be an utter disappointment with overcooked fettuccine (not papardelle), and undercooked pancetta. It's never goodwhen the best part of a dish is the grape tomatoes that are meant to merely be a garnish. If staying at the Colgate Inn again Iwould definitely return for breakfast. But for dinner, I'd most likely go for a burger at the bar with humble expectations ortry other establishments. Read more
