We were on our way back to Toronto & decided to check out Hamilton, Berkeley North came up as one of the highest rated... restaurants so we decided to check it out. They do stay true to their Pacific Coast cuisine promise. We tried the Ceviche,Shrimp salad, Hamilton Hot Chicken, Flatiron steak and the fries. The style is to share, almost like tapas, but the portions aremuch larger. We were very happy with the ceviche, it was great. I enjoyed the shrimp salad, had a good balance of zest andfreshness. The hot chicken were 4 wings that were presented on slaw and tasted great. The flatiron steak has fresh chilis onthem with a sweet glaze. In general we find the food to be very good and have no complaints. The service was tragically slow,probably due to staff shortages. Our server did try her best and we appreciate her efforts, but it looks like it was just toobusy for the team to keep up. I’m sure the service will be stellar once this whole staffing debacle settles down. Oh, and yes,we enjoyed the vibe and ambiance, it was lovely. Deserves a 10 star review, the place is beautifully decorated it has that New York soho vibe. The staff greeted us with friendly... smile and was very accommodating. This is a tapas style restaurant, with small but filling portion. We had the Coconut Shrimp,Lamp Spring roll, Hamilton Hot Chicken, Mushroom Cheese Gnocchi, Meatballs and sourdough bread with ricotta spread. ???????? allso delicious. I have to admit it has one of the best tasting food in Hamilton. This a must visit place to enjoy with friends orjust for a date night! Thanks to Matt and his staff for a memorable night. We had an amazing dinner with a wonderful waitress! The portions were delightfully quaint and the taste was refreshing! We had... the pasta as our main and the shrimp tempura for apps which The dessert is a hit or miss because one has to enjoy orangechocolate, so buyers and foodies beware! Read more
I came here for breakfast with my sister and the food was awesome! We got the shakshuka and quiche, the shakshuka was more than... enough for both of us and we took the quiche to go. My wife and I went to Berkeley North for the first time tonight for a date night! It will definitely NOT be our last time. We... had an outstanding time and would recommend! The restaurant accommodated our request for a more private table without evenblinking an eye. The food, drinks, ambience and service was amazing. Our server checked on us throughout the evening, explainedthe menu and answered any questions we had. We were promptly greeted and seated when we arrived and when we left we were thankedby multiple staff members for coming and all said goodnight! The prices fairly reflected the service and meal we had. Our foodand drinks all arrived quickly (and hot) and we never felt rushed. The fresh cheese and sourdough is out of this world! Read more
We visited Berkeley North for brunch on a Saturday morning and it wasn’t very busy. We had made reservations and were promptly... seated and served. All of the staff were friendly and accommodating and the restaurant was clean. There’s no specific brunchmenu but the lunch menu has a few brunch type options. We ordered the smoked salmon plate, shakshuka, and the featured quiche,all for two of us to share. The serving sizes weren’t too small but not too big either, so it made sense for us to order threethings to share. It was a bit pricey but all the food tasted delicious. Read more
