Friendly staff and amazing lattes! Maybe the best one I've ever had - my partner and I each got a brown sugar maple shaken... latte, mine was half sweet and was perfect. The coffee used is clearly top quality (and I think you can purchase bags of it?).The smell and the vibes in there are incredible. They do brunch now too, which is next on our list. Ordered catering for volunteer event in the neighbourhood. The team at Emerald made sure we had everything we needed and worked... with us to determine the appropriate amount of food. They even walked over to check on us throughout the day. We had coffee,muffins, and cookies (all delicious) in the AM and sandwiches / wraps for lunch. Great Coffee, good location. Friendly staff, very helpful. Just tried a "New" Blueberry Oat Vegan cookie...definitely worth... trying, I'm waiting for more! Baking something new almost weekly, always freshly baked that day! Couldn't get any better thanthat...Love them! Read more
This place absolutely rocks. I got a sandwich here the other day. And it was literally like I?d never even had a sandwich... before. It was interstellar. The coffee literally blew my mind. I had a maple oat latte. And Let. Me. Tell. You? it shook thevery fabric of my being that morning. The staff here are some of the kindest and friendliest individuals I have everencountered. It?s saddens me to share that I have been banned from coming to Emerald Coffee. I?ve been coming here and supporting them for... years. In the months of April, May, and June I had spent approximately $500 here and I always tip them well. I was easily one oftheir most die hard loyal customers and always told people about their coffeeshop. I loved coming here.. I really did. I wouldbe there 3-4 times a week. I?d like to say that their staff has changed around 3 or 4 times in the past year and a half or soand it seems that management could be improved. High turnover rate is common here and it?s very sad when you get to know thepeople who work in local businesses around your neighbourhood. The owner had told me that I stand too close to the kitchen area.I often talk to my friend or the other staff who work there while they cook food but I don?t go behind the counter.. I?ve seenmany other people stand near the end of the counter and talk to the cooks but they don?t have a problem with them doing that? Hehad also mentioned that I have made inappropriate comments to the people who work there and it makes them uncomfortable. If thathad been the case, how come I was never given a warning? Or if it bothered the staff they could?ve politely told me thatwhatever I said they didn?t like. Personally I don?t recall making any sort of inappropriate comments.. I?m very nice to thepeople who work there and enjoy talking to them or they would talk with me.. I would also often buy coffee and food and keep tomyself. The only thing I said recently that I think the new manager didn?t like is that a past employee had gotten allegedlyfired for wearing an orange shirt last year. That is public information. There?s an article about this..I had shared this withsomeone who works there that was wearing an orange shirt. First visit and believe the hype - this cafe is something special. Such warm service, and consideration for each customer.... Delicious warm drinks and fresh baked goods. And the decor has such beautiful pops of colour you can tell everything wasselected with care. Happy plants too. ???? Read more
We drove by randomly and decided to give it a shot. HOLY THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. I love lavender lattes and theirs is on point... with oat milk! We got the Hamiltonian sandwich and it was wonderful! We will be coming back and recommending it to anyone in theHamilton area! Read more
I wish there was an option for 3.5 stars. The good: very friendly service, the space is cozy and clean, and very welcoming. ... The icing on the cinnamon roll was delicious. My companion ordered the Hamiltonian sandwich, and a coffee and quite liked both. His experience was a success all around, mine missed the mark. The not so good: I ordered tea and a cinnamon roll. The teais listed on the menu as being loose leaf - not all of the tea here is loose leaf, so if this is important to you, you'll wantto ask before ordering. The actual cinnamon roll was soooo stale, I didn't eat it beyond the first bite. The website statesthat food is baked fresh daily, there is no way that this cinnamon roll was baked the same day, or even the day before, it wasthat dried out. Overall. we had an ok visit. My companion would go back in a heartbeat, I'd consider it if I was ordering asandwich as opposed to a baked good. Read more
