Brought my 2 young kids here tonight and had a wonderful time. “Dad, we have to come back here again!” and we most... certainly will. Lovely restaurant. Read more

Her demeanor changed when we asked for takeout, gave her the benefit of doubt because people have off-days.We went back because... the food is good & asked to order takeout, she gave us the menu and charged us double what was listed. Her excuse was that wasthe old price. We immediately canceled our order and left. The extra star was because the food is good. She is incrediblyrude. Disappointing. Read more

A Cozy little Indian restaurant. Serving authentic Indian cuisine. From appetizers to desert. Even Indian pale ales and lagers.... Lol.. had to say that. Clean, very friendly . Great food! First time for me in an Indian restaurant. Not a serving I didn'tlike. Spicy and fresh. Read more

I started coming here over 30 years ago. The owner said they have been opened for 35 years so I guess I’ve been coming here... since it opened. It’s a staple of Hamilton. They have a traditional tandoor oven and the tandoori chicken and vindaloo is todie for! We didn’t have it today but chose to do a meal combo for two. It was delicious!! I would highly recommend thisrestaurant for anyone craving real authentic Indian food made in a traditional tandoor oven that we brought her from India. Read more

You will NOT get better Saag Chicken than this... I guarantee you that! Stopped by Gate Of India for a quick lunch and as... expected, wasn't disappointed. While the Chai tea does need some work, the quality of service (what a pleasant man) and thetasty dishes made this one of the better lunches we've had 'out' in quite some time. Do try the garlic naan and the Paratha, asthey are great vessels to hold the saucy goodness of their curries. The onion Bhaji (excellent) and mixed vegetables withchicken (curry) (Thursday Special) is a very cost effective and tasty combo. Comes with rice and a dessert. Thank You Gate OfIndia. Read more

Amazing Indian/Bangladeshi food. They take some time cook it but the food is fresh! We ordered a lamb biryani, the sharer... platter and mughlai goshth beef). Omg the mughlai gosht is probably the best beef I've ever tasted. I got it twice. I also gotthe Mango lassi which they put roohafza in and this makes it taste even better. The owner was serving us and he's super nice. The service was really great. The decor is beautiful as well. Would definitely recommend! Read more

The service is awkward, as the servers seem very timid. They barely spoke above a whisper and didn't smile. She forgot our beer... until later on. In terms of food, the chicken was good. I had a lamb dish and it lacked seasoning, but had a ton of heat, itmasked any flavour of the dish. The tomatoes in the dish were not ripe, as seen in the photo I got the end of the tomato and itsgreen. Read more

We were in on a Saturday evening between 7 - 8pm. The wait staff could have been more communicative about wait times (all of... them were so busy that we had food arrive at the table before water) But our orders came out in a timely manner, and everythingwas hot(temperature), flavourful (a little spice), fragrant/aromatic and appealing *dishes do not come with rice or naan, whichrequire separate order here *if you are looking for a mild dish, please ask This is a great place for groups, or just forsharing a variety of dishes - expect to package your own leftovers for taking home, if any *You might have to pay for street ormetered parking during the week. Though, it is on a main bus route though, if public transit or bike riding is yourthing Overall, an ok experience, service was a little sluggish and the restrooms are in the basement, so I don't know if theyare accessible Read more
