5/5 for a Mandarin Buffet, hadn't been to one in years but had a great experience. Lots of great options classics like BBQ ribs... and chicken wings but they also had chicken dumplings, salmon belly, Salmon sashimi, California rolls fried shrimps, mussels,and since it was close to Thanksgiving they offered huge rib eye steaks, turkey and gravy when I came around in October. First visit 2022- takeout PHOTO 1-Maple cheesecake is delicious. Not too sweet just right amount of sweetness. PHOTO 2- COMBO B... Delish! Second visit 2022-dine in The best Thanksgiving lunch ever!. Variety of foods are fresh, savory and delicious. Staffwere very attentive, kind courteous. Restaurant very clean. Fairly priced. Excellent service and good ambiance as usual, and I was pleasantly surprised to see disposable gloves available for guests... (which I used to used to get my food), as well as bottles of sanitizer around, but some disappointments. We went forthanksgiving dinner and I was looking forward to some turkey. When I asked for some turkey, the server used tongs to put some onmy plate. When I got back to the table I saw it was mostly fat and some dried up meat. It was just a mess of this and that.Second, the salmon, which I usually love, was not good today (I even went twice to give it a second chance). There are some gooddishes there, and that that will let you down (like the lemon chicken-can hardly taste lemon and inside is just dried upchicken). Finally, the chocolate fudge cake, which looked delicious, was so stale and dry. I told the server and she said it isbecause they are frozen. Also, if they read this-their sign says cherry cheesecake (and has said that for years) but it'sstrawberry cheesecake! On a positive note, little ones enjoyed noodles, pizza and ice cream. They missed the cotton candythough. It is pricey, so we can't go often, but we'll go back in time. Read more

Racist, discourteous staff- especially the hostess. We are just an average nice family of mixed races. We love dining and find... the Mandarin Buffet very tasty. I had an appalling experience at Mandarin at 1508 Upper James in Hamilton on Saturday night. 1)We have one family member in a wheelchair, another in her eighties. Despite this, the hostess was disrespectful and had us waithalf an hour later than our reservation for 18 people.. It was the birthday of family twins and one staff member didn?t want togive us their meals, as a courtesy. I had to address this. I arrived at the restaurant half an hour early, to ensure that wewere seated on time. Two of our family have health and mobility restrictions. 2) We were not assigned a waiter for half an hourafter we sat, and had to again request water and drinks- we were completely ignored. People around us were receiving greatservice. 3) We are a mixed race family and we?re treated very poorly ,despite paying $472. For our group- I never received anitemized account of our bill, and was treated brusquely and rudely. Read more

We returned for the first time since the pandemic, and we were quite impressed with the overall experience. The hostess was... welcoming and accommodating. The entire restaurant was very clean and organized. All staff wore masks and were extremelypleasant. A special thanks to our waiter June who made jokes and made it an enjoyable evening. Read more

First time here since the pandemic began and I was impressed with the sanitary measures Mandarin took. The cutlery was given in... a wrapped bag which was nice. The food was just the way I remembered it was a couple years ago. My buffet experience felt safeand the food was plenty flavourful. I was very happy about my dining experience and can't wait to come again. Read more
