Had lunch with elderly mom on Nov 2/2022. Was greeted and seated immediately, and order was taken quickly. Food was delicious... (Steak Pie and Fish and Chips). There was a tiny mistake with my steak pie (missing mushrooms), but it was fixed in such aprofessional manner that I will be bringing the family back regularly. If you are looking for a place to hold a function of any kind - we highly recommend Ye Olde Squire - 550 Fennell Ave east in... Hamilton. We recently held a birthday party there. If there was a 10 star rating that is what we would give. The manager andstaff went above and beyond to ensure our party ran smoothly. Everything from the fryer was a bit soggy or undercooked; maybe their fryer temperature is too low? The wings were good.
Food was delish as always. Definitely my go to place with my friends and great atmosphere.
Today was my very first visit at this restaurant. I have heard that their hamburgers are delicious and also give recommendations... for their liver and onions; fish and chips; and chicken asiago sandwich. It usually takes me a very long time to decide what Iwant to eat, but right when I walked in there was a special menu that I just couldn't resist. Sandra was a phenomenal server.She knew exactly when to come back to check on us and constantly made sure that our drinks were topped up. I have recommendedthis restaurant to my father as he has monthly get togethers with his retired friends. I certainly will be back to try all theitems I did not this time. Read more
We recently held a retirement celebration for our boss at Ye Olde Squire on Fennell. We used the private room which comfortably... accommodated our group of 80+. Trent was great helping plan the event, he was very flexible, offering us lots of options andsourcing items that aren?t typically on the menu. He was available for communication and greeted us warmly on arrival. Ourservers, Cass and Patti, were attentive throughout the evening, properly balancing great service without being in the way. Update: I absolutely love the new patio! It?s the bomb!! What a great addition to a favourite restaurant of ours. The server... Renee was awesome! Can?t go wrong with that type of service. We went for supper on Friday night. From the outside you wouldnever know how loud it actually was inside. It was very busy but we were sat right away and the server greeted us quickly. Thebuffalo butter wings tasted like barbecue sauce with a bit of butter. They didn?t taste like buffalo butter flavour at all. Itwas way too sweet. I had a nice glass of wine and the dessert was as good as the other ye olde squires I?ve been to. It?s theirsignature beer mug brownie sundae. I could never eat the whole thing but my son was more than willing to eat his and themajority of mine. I would return but get a different flavour of wings as they do make good wings. Read more
