This is my first time at this restaurant..I ordered the Hammond taco dinner to go which includes chihuahua melted cheese bacon... and guacamole I don’t eat guacamole so asked for it without..as you can see from my pic where is the cheese and bacon thesteak was not as tender as I’m use to on a taco and it was very fatty I was constant removing fat from my mouth.. I got ascoop of rice and beans..very little food for the price I wasn’t impressed i feel like I wasted my money honestly I gave it 2stars because they have potential just have to fix the dishes better ppl want to see their money’s worth definitely not what Iexpected for $13..! I would highly recommend Pico De Gallo for good Mexican food. What I like about this restaurant is the homemade taste! I had the... chicken enchiladas with green sauce. The last time I had enchiladas this good was homemade. My wife had steak nachos its kind ofher test. She says if they can't make good nachos I'm not trusting their food. A bit overrated...food was literally just OK...I've had waaayyyy better tacos and burgers. Went because a friend hyped them up... but honestly it was just OK food not super amazing or anything spectacular. They seem to need help as well because it takesforever when you ask for a refill or for an order to be fixed. Read more
If you want some really awesome Mexican food you gotta try this place! The staff is really friendly and accommodating, I love... the hug mugs the drinks come in and well The shrimp tacos are just fantastic I can’t get enough of the shrimp tacos!!! Y’allgotta try them! Seriously this place is open til 10 and even that late in the evening the food they brought to my table wasreally good! They have hot churros!!! ???????????????? Don't let the facade fool, this is a very unassuming restaurant serving some fresh high quality delicious food. I stumbled on... this place getting gas next door(cheapest in the area) just looking for a quick bite, to my surprise they don't serve hotdogs,which isn't a minus here, just struck me as another hotdog joint. The restaurant serves Mexican and American food, the menudoesn't have your typical structure of other restaurants it serves burgers and pastas, tacos and wings, I know it seems unusualbut the food works!I've yet to try the pastas and burgers but seem very tasty. 1st time here i tried the shrimp taco(notpictured) and hands down probably the best shrimp taco in the region. This is my 3rd visit here and gotta say they have the bestwings around, fresh and hand battered, I ordered the habanero wings again and they did not disappoint, paired with an 18thstreet candi crushable michelada( don't knock it til...) also pictured is homemade sangria (very good) and took home some alpastor tacos which my significant other really likes and says are very good.The only thing I would like to see is that theyserve fresh cut fries. I haven't tried the buffalo flavored wings because the habanero are so good but I'm really surprised thisspot hasn't surfaced on that regions best for its wings, because I have had wings at some of the other highly marked wing spotsand feel these are much better. Simply one of Hammond's "hidden gems." Street Shack exceeds expectations and the food coming out of their kitchen is simply... fantastic! We've been here twice (today was our second lunchtime visit) and alongside my partner, we've tried the HangoverBurger, the Philly (beef) Cheesesteak, the fries, the fried pickles, the mini street tacos and the taco salad bowl... I cansimply say there isn't much of anything on their menu that doesn't pack the FLAVOR! ???? The fried pickles are legit some ofthee best ever and the batter does a perfect job staying adhered to the pickles (unlike some places). The fries are sized andcooked well, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with beautiful color. I was in heaven enjoying their HangoverBurger and if your are HANGRY, you best try it because it will sober you up and keep you coming back for more! Loved the philly(beef) cheesesteak... The grilled onions and green peppers really accommodated the meat and cheese so well! They provided au justo top it with, but it needed none IMO. It's as good as (if not better than) Buono Beef! Pricing is stop-on for a locally-ownedrestaurant and we've spent approximately $30-40 for two to eat. We'll definitely be returning again soon. ???? Read more
Looking for a nice place to eat for your family head to the street shack. Food is absolutely stellar. Let me tell you about this place! I have tried just about every Mexican restaurant in lake county. This is the best by far! No... joke they treat you like family here, it is so comforting to walk in and feel like you belong there and they have known you foryears. On top of that the food is amazing!!!!!!! And their homemade lemonade? It’s addicting and soooo fresh I promise you! Myfamily eats here about once a week and it gets better and better! 100% hands down the best place around! Read more
