I took my mom to Linens & Lace last weekend and the experience started off good, but went down hill fast. The tea room and gift... shop are cute. Very old fashion decor, like a real tea parlor, the gift shop had both new and vintage items which I founddelightful. When we were brought into the tea room, handed a tea menu and the lady reviewed it with us. Mint tea is like minty, peach tea is peachy, etc., you get my drift. I didn't know what we were getting menu-wise, didn't know how it worked (I've beento several tea rooms and they are all a little different). Nothing was explained until I asked. So the teas came out and theywere very strong tea but the flavors were lacking, you couldn't really tell what flavors we had. The chicken noodle soup cameout and I can't be certain, but it seemed to be canned, I heard her heating it up in the microwave, but not sure. Next came thescones, tea sandwiches and desserts. We each only got two finger sandwiches and at other places you usually getfour. The ham and pineapple slaw sandwich was delicious and the egg salad was egg salad. For dessert the strawberry and whippedcream dish was delicious, the coffee cake was store bought and the slice of watermelon was disappointing. Now, the poor service. The lady was very friendly and nice, but she never came back to check on us after we were served. I went to the restroom onthe other side when I was done and she was on a personal call. I told her we were ready and went back to my table. We waitedand waited... she never came over. We got up and went over to the counter, on the other side, she was still on the phone anddidn't even acknowledge we were standing there ready to pay. Again, I waited and waited. I finally asked to be checked out andwhen she was done her call she came over to the counter to check us out. I was so ann Read more
