Extremly forgettable food with an unforgettable view. The food seem uninspired.....almost like the chef gave up. They really... rely on the fact that they have an amazing view of the ocean. Read more

The drive out there is nice and scenic. The view from the restaurant is nice. One of the few places to eat on the north side... that is on the water. Our wait was moderate, but enjoyed cocktails while waiting. My wife had the catch of the day special andit looked wonderful and she loved every bite of it. I had the fish and chips...I thought was overpriced for three small piecesof fish. Service was slow, food came out as three meals first and the special was delayed. No one came to clear off appetizerplates and dirty drink glasses without being asked to do so. I understand that places are still short staffed, but most of thisstaff seemed to be quite young and probably inexperienced. Read more

The food was amazing. Grilled fish sandwich was so yummy. The special was poke nachos. We ordered one as an appetizer to share... with 8 people and it was plenty and so so good! Highly recommend the drive to the north shore to eat at the Opakapaka grill. Read more

This place is awesome!!!! THE BEST RESTAURANT ON THE NORTH SHORE! Food was delicious. The newer owner is doing an incredible... job of getting this restaurant up to great quality on the same level as places like Duke's and you can TASTE it. The view andbreezes going through the restaurant, right on the beach, are wonderful!!! If you're up here don't miss it. But bepatient....they are still hiring and training great staff but are short handed. It's worth the wait. Enjoy the view and relaxin the breeze. And if you'd like a job in one of the most beautiful places in the world.....contact the owner Greg Frazier. He's looking for the best cooks etc.from anywhere. Wish I had pictures of the food and restaurant. The gluten free flat breadis incredible with pesto, cherry tomatoes, fresh grated parm & balsamic drizzle. The chocolate lave cake was stellar . Thefresh berries on it were the freshes, sweetest, plumpest berries I've ever eaten!!!! And the Blue Hawaiians just like theyshould be, tasty & delicious. The Opakapaka with rice & asparagus & broccoli was all cooked to perfection. The menu is limitedbut all very well done, as they are recovering from 3 years of being shut down, since the landslides in 2018 & then thepandemic. GO...JUST GO. HELP SUPPORT THIS PLACE TO STAY IN BUSINESS ON THE NORTH SHORE!! SENDING TONS OF ALOHA & MAHALO FOR AJOB WELL DONE, TO ALL OF YOU, at Opakakpaka!!! Read more

Very much a surprise how good this is. If you want fish, or steak, + cocktails in a sit-down environment, it is the only good... option for miles around. And great it is, we went there 3 times over two weeks and we loved it each time. We went from Opakapakato steak. The staff are really friendly and serious about COVID - we felt safe. Read more

Came for dinner to watch the sunset. We arrived relatively early around 5:45pm after numerous attempts to call and make a... reservation (called 5-10x). After calling and calling ahead of time at 5, when they opened, we eventually gave up and decided tojust make the 30 min drive to see if we could get in. We arrived and were told that two parties were ahead of us, so it wouldbe at least 15 minutes. Not a problem for us whatsoever. We asked if we could go wait in the back so we could watch the sunset. They said unfortunately it’s first come first serve, so if we wanted our spot in line, we had to stay there. They only let twoparties in the back for some reason and refuse to put together any kind of waitlist. Which, I’m still trying to wrap my headaround. We finally got seated after the sun had set. Which was a bummer, but we were still optimistic. I had a dinner salad andmy wife ordered the tempura sushi roll and a side of fries. The fries were good. My salad tasted like it came out of a bag andthe sushi roll did not taste good either. The fries were the only thing that we both agreed was good. Our table had slots that Idon’t think had been cleaned for weeks (see pics) if not longer and the windows are foggy and in desperate need for either adeep clean or replacement like others in the reviews had mentioned. They were only using half of the restaurant and had twoservers, so it had kind of a rundown, on-it’s-way-out feel/vibe. Service was good and they were trying, but it just simply wasnot an enjoyable experience. Some extremely simple things could really help turn this restaurant around. They had tiki torchesoutside, but didn’t turn them on. No music was playing which would help tremendously to set the tone for the environment, anda good cleaning of the windows and would reassure patrons that cleaning protocols aren’t being overlooked.
