I can?t figure out why this place was only 4 stars on these reviews. This is the best seafood we have had so far?. Better then... the Beach House down south. If you?re staying up north, get in line at the Dolphin. No reservations are taken but our wait onThursday was only about a half hour. I believe they?re busier on Mondays and Tuesdays due to other restaurants which are closedin the area. We had the shrimp tempura roll and it was deliciously prepared. The blackened mahi mahi was probably the best I?vehad across all the islands. The white rice was delicate and soft. The staff (bar tender) and sushi chefs were very friendly. Wewill definitely be back for sure. Can?t go wrong with the alcoholic specialty drinks they offer also. Read more
The food was fresh and tasty. The rainbow poke and seafood chowder were excellent. Service was friend and relatively quick.... They were able to accommodate and put a candle on the dessert for my kids bday. Will definitely go back again. We put our nameon the list at 4:30 for the 5 o'clock seating. Was worried it'll be too early for dinner. But we didn't get our entrees until6, so it turned out perfect. Read more
We stopped and picked up some poke for dinner, and Blue Marlin to fix for the following evening's dinner. The guy behind the... counter was very helpful and shared recommendations (I know that tourists ask a lot of the same stupid questions). Noticingthat they had a bar and outside seating, we decided to return and have a couple of drinks during sunset, but when we stopped ina couple days later and asked the hostess about this, she looked at us like we were asking for tickets to the circus andreplied, "Oh, we don't really do that here". Food and service are amazing! Maureen, the bartender was attentive and friendly, and gave wonderful recommendations for the... delicious stuffed mushrooms and Hanalei roll. Took the Macnut brownie to go bc I was so full from the yummy dinner! Read more
Tried the Dolphin Restaurant in Hanalei for the first time and it was delish! Sat in sushi lounge which was pretty cool and laid... back! The Rainbow Poke was delightfully tasty as was the shrimp tempura! The wife loved the lobster dinner and while I inhaledthe Poipu Roll! Good vibes and good eats = highly recommend! Local recommendation and did not disappoint, fresh fish and amazing cocktails. If you're dining alone, sit at the sushi bar -... and ask for the chefs special. We saw it go out a few times and it's like getting a custom roll just for you! If you're withfriends they have a huge outdoor seating area and most of the food is shareable. Tons of menu options, but make sure to askabout the local catch and the specials around it. Open until 9pm as well! Read more
My husband and I dined at The Dolphin yesterday evening and had a delightful experience! It was our last night on Kauai and we... wanted it to be extra special. We were warmly greeted by the restaurant manager/ hostess Morgan, who was helpful and kind. Sheassisted us to the sushi lounge as we requested. Our server Mariel was lovely and took excellent care of us. Serena madebeautiful sushi rolls which were made with fresh ingredients. We had the macadamia nut brownie with vanilla bean ice cream fordessert and were blown away! Thank you for making our last night on the island so special! Read more
This was one of the better meals that we had while staying in the Princeville area. We choose to sit outside and enjoy the... weathers. The outdoor seating in very private and unique. Our server, Kezie was so incredibly good. She was very knowledgeableabout the menu, area, and was also extremely friendly. By the end of our dinner we felt like close friends. Her recommendationswe also spot on! Don?t sleep on the Omakase. We trusted the chefs and they made the best sushi roll that we have had in ourlife. The ono and hamachi Sashimi were also to die for. We finished the meal with the Hawaiian butter Mochi. My wife decided shecould eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for the rest of her life. Their Lilikoi is outstanding.
