Definitely the best restaurant meal I've had in the area in the past several seasons. Seafood was excellent. Steak cooked to... perfection. My boyfriend and I were staying at an Airbnb close by and found this restaurant a few minutes away with great reviews. We... stopped in and were informed it was reservations only, but they made an exception and sat us (which was awesome of them todo!) AMAZING Haddock Chowder - probably the best thing I've had during our 4 day stay in the area and Bar Harbor included. Theyalso serve you a generous dinner portion - complimentary bread, both soup and salad included with dinner, and the dinner itselfwas fantastic. If you're close by, definitely stop in for dinner just make sure to call ahead! Read more
After spending the day in Acadia it was great to come upon this relaxing restaurant away from the crowds in Bar harbor. The food... was very good. Service excellent. The price of the meal included soup, roll and salad. Well worth it. Plus we received amilitary discount. Thank you. Read more
Really nice dining room and excellent food. Fine dining options downeast are somewhat limited outside of Bar Harbor, so this... restaurant is much needed. The menu has a wide variety of options from filet medallions down to pub burgers. The haddock chowderis fabulous. Read more
Best. Chowder. Ever. I have seriously never experienced a haddock chowder as amazing as Chip?s. It has won many awards and it is... very easy to see why. Each meal comes with a sample of it, but I highly recommend upgrading it to a cup rather than a sample oryou?ll regret it forever! I recently took some family here, who know great seafood, and their reaction to the entire meal was,?best seafood I?ve ever had!? Chippers is even catering my brother?s wedding. This food is the real deal. They are only open onThursday, Friday, and Saturday for dinner so make a reservations as fast as you can. You will not regret it! Read more
Revising my prior positive review. Last Friday my wife and I hoped to dine at this restaurant. We've eaten here before,... without a reservation and a supposed full book. We left a VM at 10am for a 5pm reservation (when they open). We were called at2:30p and told that they were full. Fair enough. At 5:15p, we were driving by and noticed almost no cars in the parking lot sodecided to stop in. As expected 2/3 of the restaurant was empty. After a 10 minute wait to get noticed, we were told they werefull...no explanation given. We inquired about staffing as we thought they may have been short-handed, but no. We asked aboutall of the open tables and were quickly told they were reserved for 6:30p (again, it was 5:25p at best). They were also quickto point out that they were only open for 3 hours as if that explains their expected empty restaurant when we wanted to dine. Ican only speculate that they just didn't want to work and were comfortable with an empty restaurant for the first hour at leastof their night. We drove down the road to another "full" restaurant which was more than happy to accommodate us. We will notbe attempting to dine here again. Read more
