Delicious food, good prices and friendly staff!
I've been going here for six years. I'm from Maryland and out of all the places I've tried they are the closest as far as taste... goes when it comes to Maryland seafood. I've always liked their food but twice recently I was slightly disappointed. It seemslike when they are extremely busy attention to detail slips. 4 months ago me and my husband had ordered for takeout a order ofcrab balls, apricot salmon, 1 dozen of steamed clams, a bowl of cream of crab. Out of 12 clams five of them were dead but yetstill serve to me. If the shell is not open after steaming it is a dead clam. Granted they did give me credit for that. November11th my son ordered me to dozen of crabs $200 worth to cheer me up because I had just euthanized my dog the day before. Thecrabs are always awesome and even after this issue I will still get crabs from them I had actually ate a half of a crab before Inoticed a pneumonia smell the crab was dead but yet they still steamed it. I got very sick. Once a crab dies it starts to get apneumonia smell and decompose. Because of these two issues I have made a decision that I will no longer get Seafood from themwhen they are extremely busy. But I still give them five stars Read more
Loved the food! Had the crab balls, which were full of lump crab meat for a great price. Excellent service. Nice deck to eat out... on. BYOB rule. What else can you ask for? Read more
I go here everytime I'm in town visiting my grandparents. The staff is friendly, service is great, and food I delicious!
I spent $165 this evening at Big Mikes. I was extremely disappointed at what my money bought me. I got (2) crab pretzels, the... snow crab legs you see in the picture, a 3 piece white chicken platter, and a steamer bucket (crabs, clams, mussels, shrimp). While I knew what I was buying (according to the menu), I just have to say?if you are going to provide such skimpy portion sizeentrees, you should at least do better on the size of your sides. The steamer bucket was cooked nicely, but I had 3 closedmussels and 4 closed clams. It was a nice variety, but not enough to satisfy a grown man?s hunger. The crab pretzels were ok(salty), and so was the chicken. Overall, the food wasn?t great, but it wasn?t bad either. I wish for that kind of money, itwould seem a little more worth spending. Read more
First time visiting Big Mikes Crab House and Grill with my wife and kids and I have to say even before the rest of the review I... was already kind of partial to their cool name. When we first arrived inside the restaurant we were asked by the waitress if wewould like to sit inside or out and we chose to sit outside since it was a nice day. Once at our table our waitress took ourdrink order and it was quick to come. Also I must mention that our drinks were cold and full of ice which you wouldn't thinkwould be a big deal but when you are used to going to restaurants where they treat ice like it is some kind of preciouscommodity its nice for a change. It was also nice that there were other choices on the menu especially since my son is not fondof most kind of seafoods. We ordered the loaded hush puppies for our appetizer and they were covered in crab meat and awesome. The crab cakes, scallops and steamed shrimp that my wife, daughter and I had were great and cooked just right. My son and I hadthe "broasted" chicken as well which was crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside and tasted superb. The waitress was great,she was polite and quick. I only wish I could remember her name because whenever I have good service I like to include the waitstaff's name in the review to give credit where it is due. Last but not least I visited the inside of the restaurant beforeleaving just to give some props to the guys cooking the food also which was well received by them both. Staff were very friendly and fast after they realized we were seated by the hostess all the way back. Didn't eat crabs but if... look and smell are anything, they must be good. Stuffed shrimp were delectable, and fried asparagus are too die for. Crabcakes, crab soup and crab dip had very good flavor except we couldn't find actual crab in them. Worth a visit. Read more
Great food and reasonable prices. Crabs are good size and tasty. Staff there is very personable.
