Stopped by late afternoon after driving by the place earlier that day. I ordered a bowl of chili and the special with one hot... dog, one hamburger and fries. Never did get to try the hamburger because the order came out with two hotdogs. The fries werehot and good. Did not care for the hot dog it was more like a sausage. The chili as not bad would not win any chili cook-off. The value was was good for what you get. Read more
Visited here for the first time with my son. It was more for experience rather than for the food. Not that the food was bad,... it was good for what it was. It was exactly what we were looking for and what we expected. They were definitely hot weiner'sno doubt about that. The toppings were great and the frys were good to. The price was right, the waitress was polite and theservice excellent. It definitely was a cool experience none the less and my son and I had a great time conversing with thewaitress and checking out all of the pictures on the wall, finding out all of the history of the restaurant and why the hotdogssnap when you bite into them. I don't think we'll be regulars but since my wife, kids and I kinda dub ourselves as foodies itwas a cool place to visit and I definitely recommend you do the same if you ever find yourself in Hanover PA and you want somegood hotdogs. After having driven past this place probably 15 times, I was intrigued by the thought of the sign that said they have the best... wieners. I thought okay we'll see do they do a breakfast as well because that was what I was aiming for. The breakfast platterwas eggs toast and a wiener. Of course, you had the choice of sausage bacon ham or a hamburger as well. I believe I chose wiselyas all the food and in particular the wiener was quite well cooked and really very tasty was delivered quickly cost me under 6bucks and I was feeling like I had gotten a nice deal for breakfast that was very respectable. Even the toast was good - a bitoversized from what I'm used to but that was fine with me. The cook and the waitress were very friendly. I enjoyed the ambience,this is a real diner so if a real diner is what you want then brother this is your place since I was there for breakfast, I willconfess that I did not look over their whole menu very closely. I will definitely be stopping by here again as I cut throughHanover. A nice place at a very respectable price. Two thumbs up for sure. Read more
This is a charming old school luncheonette. No frills. Just booths and tables at a restaurant with great hot dogs. They have... other sandwiches but seriously, the hot dogs are the BEST!! Crunchy on the outside but not burnt. Don't event need a bun--exceptto hold the toppings! Read more
