The service and ambiance were amazing! But the food skyrocketed Spread Eagle into the unique realm of bliss. We live an hour... away, and the drive, especially on back roads, is so worth it. Thank you to all the staff for making our experience a romanticfeast, as if in another era. Read more

I had the daily special barbecue chicken something, it was good they used quality ingredients. it's like fine dining in the... 1800s. I was there at lunch it was pretty quiet and the basement wasn't being used but I would like to drink at the bar down inthere it's pretty cool. 1800s themed there's a bunch of historical stuff if your into that. We had my grandma's memorial service here, it was beautiful. The food is impeccable. 10/10 for service and food. The location is... rustic and the parking lot is about the only thing they need to work on. Lots of interesting stuff on the walls. Read more

What a disappointment in the management. We had 7pm reservations 3 weeks in advance of when family was coming in town from... Vermont. When we arrived, the young hostess said "your reservation was canceled by a phone call at 5:00 due to a familyemergency." We were all there, shocked! We finally had to ask for the manage, who in turn said the same thing...but we saidthey obviously had the wrong group. She claimed to have verified name and #, but I never rec'd a call. She was quite upset withus and was basically expecting us to leave!! However, we expected to be seated, since it was not our error and there was no wayin that shirt time later they would have filled up with non-reserved patrons. This was our first time to eat there and therudeness was unacceptable! But...interestingly, about 3 minutes later we were taken to an already set table for our # ofpeople. Maybe they only cater to "regulars"?? We had several in our group and spent plenty of money!! I must say, though, ourserver was wonderful and the food was good. Read more

Lovely colonial atmosphere, and good service for early dinner. Started with Appetizers of Ceasar Salad, which was to... overwhelmed with garlic. This left the entire remaining meal tasting of garlic. The Baked Brie with Raspberry sauce excellent. Fresh fruit and crackers served with this. Some fruit was not ripe or too ripe. Both people had Frenched Pork Osso Buccoentrees. Beautifully served, hot(which we loved), fell off bone tender.. This had a good flavor other than too much salt, that ruined the overall flavor experience. All we could taste was the salt! Wine was good..The dessert of Apple Crisp with icecream, we shared. Again, over seasoned with nutmeg. This took away from what would of been flavorful. We would suggest the cheftone down on garlic and salt and other over seasoning so patrons can experience the actual flavors. Read more

My 1st time visiting. I look forward to going back! The food was amazing. I was thankful to save leftovers. I only could,... because you need to start with appetizers and save room for a terrific dessert menu... Otherwise I would have gobbled all mylunch down. Read more

What a neat place tucked away. Our server was helpful and attentive, providing great recommendations. Our food was superb. I... love a good butter roll with garlic. Our entrees, top notch: partner?s filet melted in his mouth, my chicken was moist with acrisp exterior, and the sides, were wonderful. We were able to explore the rich history of the building after our meal. Read more
