Tried this place for the first time and it didn?t disappoint. Our waitress was very nice and fast with taking orders and... bringing our food. She also always refilled the coffee. French toast, bacon and egg were very tasty! Read more

Do not arrive early. Whole crew just forget professionalism. However by around 10 am they wake up smell the coffee, realize they... are no better than what burger employees across. Far better service. If you want good food bad service goto Barrels early.Decent food great service cross the bridge to the burger place. Read more

I should be back with names, but I wanted to thank the team real quickly for making Mother?s and my ladies lunch experience... lovely. This is a family restaurant with large portion sizes. They can host a large party as well. We walked through thebeautiful, well stocked store and there was a friendly woman there who quickly called for us to be seated and it took no time atall. The tables were stable, spacious and clean, with a peg game and lantern, salt and pepper, and a menu. They have a lot ofchoices, but a sister and I highly recommended the trout to Mother. She and I ordered it with pinto beans, fried okra, andcarrots between the two of us (two sides per plate). Mother enjoyed her first experience eating the fish very much, so sheordered the same to go for Dad; his order came with the same generous helpings in sturdy containers. Our waitress was fast, attentive and sweet. She was the best. There was another waitress who was there who helped once. The cashier was extremelyfriendly and made us want to come back. Enjoy! I decided to try this Cracker Barrel one more time as they have been bad in the past, I shouldn't have. I ordered a loaded bake... potato which is pretty hard to screw up, not for these cooks. The potato was hard and the bacon was uncooked. I showed it toSarah the manager who stood by my table giving me a look of "how dare I show her this". She said that the bacon donenessdepended on who was "digging through it"! REALLY? It's either cooked and safe for human consumption or it isn't, plain andsimple and hard potatoes evidently aren't a problem for her either. When I told her I didn't want or have time to try anotherone, she reached across my table, grabbed my plate, grabbed my receipt and crumbled it up and through it while speaking as shewalked away. With all the restaurants complaining about having the staff needed to operate, maybe they should start with lookingfor management that knows how to operate a restaurant. You can have all the staff (good or bad) you need and it won't make a bitof difference if your management doesn't care about your customers. Without customers you're all going to be out of a job, NOCUSTOMERS, NO RESTAURANT! I hope Harker Heights,TX is one of the many Cracker Barrel restaurants being closed, they are wasteof valuable real-estate. Read more

It?s Cracker Barrel so most know what to expect with the shopping while you wait or after dinner and the rocking chairs out... front. This is our local restaurant and every visit for years has been pleasant with great service in a clean family friendlyatmosphere. The home style food is always a home run and not overpriced. If you are local or passing through it?s worth a visit. Read more
