I decided to stop at this place after passing it several times on the road. I'm so glad that I gave them a try and even happier... that they are located near my home (in Harker Heights). It is a clean, laid back place that serves authentic Puerto Ricancuisine!! It was as if they were cooking straight from my mother's recipe book (like a taste of home), and it's hard to find anyplace who's food is as delicious as my mother's. My father and I had the roasted pork (pernil) and rice, and my boys had pizzaand a cheeseburger. Everything was delicious! I like that they serve other things besides PR food, since my boys usually preferpizza and burgers most of the time that we go out. Moreover, the friendliness of the owners was the cherry on top! For my first visit I enjoyed their house special for tues. Their portions were perfect to my liking. Taste and spices we're all... there great job. My wife (Puerto Rican) and I(Mexican) came to MJ's Kitchen for the first time today...we thoroughly enjoyed our experience here.... We ordered the Friday meals of the day along with several of their appetizers and sides, everything was excellent. The owner wasvery pleasant and a joy to speak to. I noticed that they had four different bottles of Hot Sauce for customers to try with theremeals...the owner explained that a local gentleman makes them for her and that she also sells them, needless to say as a MexicanI really enjoyed them and ended up purchasing 3 of the four types she had. My wife asked how come I didn't get the 4th kindsince I was Mexican, I told it was because I was Mexican and not crazy...the 4th bottle was made with Ghost peppers. Do I needto explain any further...
