Everything was packaged great and the food was also delicious. Ordered tacos and kids meals for a cold rainy day.
It's a good restraunt but prices are steep for the amount you get. I ordered a botany for 2 and it is more cipa in bottom of the... course that's why it looks alot. Looks can be deceiving. But it was good food. For a quick bite. I'll come around if maybe Ihave no other option and see my pockets if I can afford it to get full and not stay hungry. Read more
Good, not great. Took the family out while visiting the area. There were 8 of us total so a pretty good size table. Was a... little scared when we walked in at 6 pm and the place was completely empty but it did pick up while we were there. I supposethat was a positive for us that they could seat a table of 8 immediately. Mixed reviews on food and beverage. I think we allagreed that the starter beans were good. I got some tacos with flour tortillas which I thought were pretty tasty but my wifesaid the corn tortillas for her tacos were stale and dry. The horchata was pretty good except it was kinda gritty which I?venot experienced anywhere before, I would have definitely preferred it not to be. Service was decent. Waitress did a nice jobof checking with us and refilling drinks. When the food came, it was ?auctioned off? which is a pet peeve of mine. Food shouldbe placed in front of the person who ordered it without having to ask, ?who ordered this? and ?who ordered that?. I ordered mytacos without tomato?s but when they came they had tomato?s so that caused some confusion during the ?auction? and my son endedup with my plate for a bit but the waitress did discover the mistake and got it corrected quickly. We usually spend a coupleweeks down here in the RGV during the summer and we love to check out the restaurants. There are a lot of 4 and 5 star eateriesdown here so a 3 star we likely wouldn?t visit again. Read more
Really tasty and delicious bistec and trompo tacos. They had unique & tasty flavor twists (unique flavors). Finally something... that's different. Tripa was good. I called Taqueria la Mexicana, twice, but no one answered. I've never been here so I wanted to ask a few questions, nonetheless,... I still drove there. Their parking is kinda tight and I didn't realize their drive thru was infront of the door until I parkedin a space across the drive thru infront of the door. The lady asked me what I wanted to order, but never having been there Ihad to request a menu. I ordered street tacos with biztec, al pastor, tripa for my mom and dad and a torta for me. I had a 30minute drive back home so my torta ended up with a soggy part on the bottom. Once I removed the soggy bread the taste wasfantastic! Good balance of meats, cheese, lettuce and tomato. However, the avocado was not spread across the entirety of thebread so the 2nd half was not as good. The beans are phenomenal! My mom and dad said they absolutely loved their tacos and werevery authentic. Since we placed 4 orders we got 4 beans, 4 green sauces (green was my favorite sauce) and 4 red sauces(both veryspicy), 8 lime wedges, and a huge bundle of cebolla asada. I'd say it was definitely worth the $30. I also purchased 3lechescakes and a cheesecake. The 3leches was very tasty, the cheesecake was mediocre. I really wanted flan, but they didn't have any. Great tacos, and a pretty good looking menu. Fajitas were some of the softest I've ever had. Kinda wish there were more chips... with the guacamole order, but that was a minor complaint. Staff was friendly even though we arrived very close to closing time. Read more
Great lil place for lunch. Good food, tho the refried beans were barely warm. A bean soup was served instead of chips and salsa,... real tasty with lots of lime. Good prices too. Read more
